I have been going to Rocky Point for 25 years and recently stayed at Las Palomas for the first time. I have stayed everywhere else from Cholla Bay to Las Conchas. This is hands down the best place overall. We booked through VRBO stayed on the 11th floor (very quiet being up that high) and had a wonderful time. Our 2 children loved the pools as well as the well kept beach. Early morning beach time with the kids when the tide is out was awesome. We have found our place to stay and would recommend Las Palomas to anyone. We did go into town for a couple of meals but there is truly no reason to leave the resort if you don't want to.

Room Tip: The 11th floor seemed to be quiet compared to the noise level when we were at the pool and the build...

My family and I enjoyed the weekend, room was very nice and comfortable. Kids enjoyed the pool very good service. There was no need to leave the resort due to having a bar, restaurant , mini store and pool" we will definitely be back next summer! We really recommend this resort !

We booked our place for a wedding with VRBO. I called ahead of time to make sure out room was ready so the rest of our party could get settled since we were going to be late. When we arrived our friends were waiting in the parking lot! The resort staff escorted all our friends off the property stating I had to be there before they could even be in the lobby. We were furious! Then to top it off they moved us to an entirely different room than what we had agreed upon with VRBO! The room ended up being nice, but the rudeness last minute changes, and both resort staff nor VRBO renter not taking accountability for the screw up will definitely cause us never to stay here again. Good thing there are other options along this beach.

Nice beach-front resort with lots of swimming pools and a lazy river. We felt very safe the entire time. The restaurant choices aren't great. You should eat at the authentic places in town. Check out Coffee Haus for a fantastic breakfast.

Spent four days last week at Las Palomas with coworkers and we had a blast. We had a 2-Bedroom Condo with Ocean Front and it was amazing. The hotel / condo is family friendly and their pools are amazing. We stayed in Phase I. Their breakfast buffet is really good, as is their dinner menu. The only issue I found was the wi fi. Being a large resort, the Wi Fi only works while at either of the two lobbies of the hotel.
I will definitely go back to this hotel whenever I have a chance. The beach is beautiful, very peaceful. The water of the ocean was warmer than that in the pool! The sunset view from the room was superb!
I really recommend anyone looking to relax and unwind for a couple days, go to Las Palomas and you won't regret it!

Okay, I will try and give the information I have been asked by new people arriving, as we now live at the resort full time (not for everyone - a big adjustment). We picked phase 1 as we like the big pool better, but keep in mind you can go back and forth and enjoy both phases.

The condo's are great inside and well built (you won't hear outside noise in your condo)

If you pick a higher floor the views are better... We are on the 10th - LOVE it!

The drive we have felt is safe - travel when others are traveling if you are nervous (Friday, Sat. or Sun. mornings) , it will make you feel better to see other people on the road. NEVER travel in the dark - you just don't know.....

The staff is great, I CAN'T imagine not having house keeping, they work very hard for their money - please leave $2 with a note saying thank you! We left $2 on the counter and it was still there when we came back..... lock up values (if there is a safe in your room), but keep it simple when you come.

Bring noodles or any floatation device you like, floating in the ocean is paradise!!

Not a bad idea to bring "aqua socks or water shoes" the sand is VERY hot right now, plus as on any other beach there are bottle caps, shells, and coral areas that can cut your feet......

If you go out to the beach at 9:00 AM and ask the "banana boat" driver to take you to see the dolphins, for $5 each you can start your day with a big smile, as there is a baby in the group right now. Note - the driver will go really slow if you ask him to ( I have had 3 knee surg. and I am always fine).

It is HUMID, always keep a bottle of water with you. The elevators are SO hot, because the doors open all the time, there is really no way to keep them cool.

The resort really is a win win for all ages, there really is something for everyone!

Be sure to get a Mango on the beach (watch for the man who pushes a red wheel barrel, he cuts them into the best flowers), even if you don't like mangos - you might be surprised, they are so good!

Closest grocery store is Super Ley, they are on "Constitution Road" and have a big sign that says "Ley" (they are here in the Sandy Beach area, if you are just coming in towards the resort they will be on the left).

Parking is great, as we NEVER worry about our car! You get underground parking, and don't worry about the numbers listed, it is open parking.

Happy hour is great, with 2 for 1, but you may want to order your drink and than head about 10 ft. out!! We have a high view of the pool, and about 10 ft. around the bar, the water is actually yellow..... just saying!

You can have your phone in the room activated so you can call the operator, room to room, or order room service (has ALWAYS been good) when you are to tired to go out or cook! DO NOT use the phone for anything else as I think it is $3 a minute even for LOCAL calls (we found out the hard way with a $100 phone bill for local calls).

I have read through all the rules, and to be honest as a owner living here, they seem pretty spot on to me... Sometimes people come and loose their minds.... okay during the day, but not at night!

This resort offers the most for the money, if your thinking of coming to Rocky Point, it really does!!! I looked at every resort in Sandy Beach, and this one was truly the best!!

I thoroughly researched condos in this facility and found one that suited our tastes in Phase II, and we could not have been happier. It was our first trip to Rocky Point and we already have another one booked. The resort is clean, well-maintained, and we never felt unsafe. I will note that we chose not to have our room cleaned while we were there and we brought very few valuables to be safe. You do have to give them your credit card for everything, but having read previous reviews this was not a surprise. We relaxed, enjoyed the happy hour specials like pina coladas and fish tacos, and the beach was absolutely amazing!

Room Tip: Look at several websites and also google the unit you are interested in. Also - check out the tide s...
