The hotel has an air of old grandeur, however after a week of bad service and a lot of amenities that don't work it just started to look tired and worn out. The chairs in the lobby/foyer had holes and tears. The internet was very patchy with many of our group relegated to sitting on the stairs outside trying to catch some reception and all the computers in their business room didn't work.
Our air conditioning only puffed a bit of colder air but sounded like a plane taking off. We couldn't hear our alarms on our phones over it! Our toilet wouldn't flush properly either. The sheets were torn and it took two nights before all our pillows had pillow cases.
Service in the restaurant was so slow it was painful. We needed to sign the bill before going each morning to work and it could take up to 20mins to get it. The worst thing is if people needed to leave for work so couldn't wait they would actually get annoyed at us for leaving without signing even though we asked for the bill in plenty of time. Waiters wouldn't wait to listen to your order and you might get half what you asked for and service was incredibly inconsistent.
Can't comment on value for money as this was covered by business but it would have to be pretty cheap to be worth it!More
