Fiesta inn hotels are all the same in some level. They share, in this country and as far as I can see, the same standard level of service. You can expect nice people. The beach is 1 hour away though. The food is not so great unless you get the italian night, that's pretty good.

Room Tip: It has only 2 floors so, either way it's fine.

Hotel is a modern hotel located next to the University. After leaving the toll road, the hotel was about 3 blocks away. No turns, and where they said it was. The entire staff I encountered were top notch. Most had a good grasp on English so my fears were quickly gone. The check in was easy and efficient. The room was clean with all the modern conveniences. The property was extremely well kept and everything was spotless. This is definitely a hotel I will visit again and I highly recommend for anyone traveling through Colima. I did not eat at the hotel, but the dining area was very clean, and there were many people eating. I was given a map of the area and also some recommendations on where to visit. A very positive attitude displayed by everyone at the hotel.

Very nice U.S.A. style motel with good food in the restaurant and pleasant staff. There was
a good, firm bed with a modern granite bathroom and shower stall, but the stall was too
narrow to aim the water where wanted it to go because the shower head was not adjustible.
There were no safes in the rooms, which was an inconvenience; had to leave things at
the front desk.
Location was far removed from the town; more of a suburban shopping area with box stores.
We were really kind of stuck there without a car, but it didn't cost much to get from the bus
station in a taxi. Avoid the bus station bathroom; it's really a dump!

This hotel is located on the outskirts of the city in an area that is currently under development so it lacks "downtown" atmosphere (which might be just what you're looking for). It is on the main highway coming in from the airport or Guadalajara which makes it easy to get to coming from out of town. The rooms were large and clean and it seemed like it had been recently built. The air conditioning works. There is free internet access (I can't remember if it was wireless or not). The breakfast buffet is good and the staff are friendly and helpful. We had a minor issue with some credit cards not working and some confusion over the rate and reservation but it was all resolved amicably.

I lived in Colima in 1990 on an exchange program and was so happy to return to visit in October 2008. I brought my husband with me so we decided to stay in a hotel rather than with the family I lived with in 1990, and since it was his first trip to Mexico we wanted to make sure to stay at a place with air conditioning. The family recommended the Fiesta Inn and it was a great recommendation.

The hotel is on the newer side, and while it is more of a business hotel, it was very comfortable. We stayed in a room with a king bed and the temperature control in the room was excellent. The restaurant/lounge area is also temperature controlled, but not the common hallways. (This is very common in Mexico.) We found the front desk staff to be very friendly and helpful, although we really didn't need them for much. The outstanding part of our stay there was the breakfast! The usual suspects were there, but also a whole array of Mexican specialities that were expertly prepared. Aside from the homemade meals we enjoyed with my Mexican 'family', the breakfast here was the best of our trip (we also spent a week in Manzanillo at Las Hadas).

The hotel is located near the third 'periferico' and is very close to the mall as well as the bus station. Colima is a small city, so the old downtown is not far away by car either.
