Beautiful museum, highly informative; ask for the audio guide in English if your Spanish reading skills are not developed.

The attractive museum has the best exhibits for anthropology of the Gulf Coast of Mexico. Get the English audio guide.

“Second only to the Museum of Anthropology in Mexico City”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 4 January 2014

Great museum and wonderful architecture. Most of the inscriptions were in Spanish but we discovered the there were English info sheets on the wall at the entrance to each room which gave an introduction to what you would find there.

“Excellent museum”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 17 November 2013

We opted to visit the Xalapa Museum of Anthropology rather than Mexico City's because of the amount of time we would have. This museum does an excellent job of telling many stories in a clear and concise manner. Excellent artifacts. We did buy a guide book in the museum bookstore for about $10 since nothing is interpreted in English.

“A True Lesson in History”

The entire experience was great. Very inexpensive admission and lovely building. English headphones for self guided tour. Make sure to check out the gift shop and sit and rest with a fresh Espresso.
