A friend and I arrived at Posada de Las Flores in Xalapa on January 23, 2015 with a printed, confirmed reservation from Booking.com (made on Dec. 13, 2014) for 2 rooms/2 nights starting that night. Seeing the lovely exterior aspect of the inn, we were eager to checkin to our rooms. Imagine our shock when, on giving our names to the manager, he said that he had no rooms available. When we showed him our printed confirmation he said that he had notified Booking.com that he had no rooms upon receiving a request from them for the 2 rooms for us. We believed him and accepted his assistance in finding alternative lodging. On returning home, my friend called booking.com, ready to blame them for the whole problem. They were extremely nice and reported that they had never heard anything from the hotel about not having rooms. Furthermore, the hotel manager had just sent an email to Booking.com (a week after we had left Jalapa) and reported that we had never shown up. Booking.com was very apologetic, offering to cover any additional costs we might have incurred and said they would be contacting the hotel. While this inn is rated highly by many, we feel that the unethical and dishonest behavior of the manager we dealt with should be made known.More
