The hThe hotel is located just a short walk from the historic center. The staff is extremly friendly. The hotel was newly renovated to add a modern artistic flare without hiding the beauty of the historic building. The rooms were comfortable and spacious with tall ceilings. The hotel also acts as an art gallery displaying local artwork. The continental breakfast also had an artistic flare that would delight the taste buds of any culinary critic. otel is located just a short walk from the historic center. The hotel was clean and the women at the desk were very friendly and helpful. However, even though the website advertises multilingual services, that didn't seem to be the case at all. When we inquired about dinner the restaurant staff could not be located. They were supposed to be open at 7:00 pm and when we went to check at 7:30, there was nobody around. We walked to the main plaza thinking there might be decent restaurant choices and the only things available were bad pizza, a cafeteria type restaurant and coffee houses.

The price was right and the style of the hotel very appealing, but I didn't like that there were no windows in the room and kind of felt like I was in a cement cell. I probably won't go back to Leon, and only stayed there because my flight was leaving so early. If I need to fly out of BJX again so early, I will definitely go back to Guanajuato the night before. Live and learn.

This small, boutique hotel was newly renovated, -with interiors that are well designed and superbly appointed.
However, we arrived in late December, on a cold and very rainy day, which showed up the hotel's short-comings.
-The room AC had to work very hard to provide a comfortable temperature;
-Getting hot water in the shower was also a challenge;
-We had 2 rooms and found that the one located on the 2nd floor level was quite noisy, particularly from the heavy rain pounding onto the acrylic skylight, as well as noise travelling up through the 2 story corridor;
-It was raining so hard that, although we were all hungry, we did not want to venture out to a restaurant. Unfortunately, we were not made aware that the small 'Continental Breakfast' type restaurant served limited menu items. (The limited breakfast selection was actually very good);

Under more favourable weather conditions we would definitely recommend this interesting hotel, particularly due to the closeness to the city center, the attractive and well designed boutique interiors and overall value, -but would recommend taking a ground level room distant from the entry and front desk area.

Room Tip: We would note that the rooms do not have exterior windows, but rather have shuttered openings onto t...

Booked one room direct from the hotel web site for $999 Pesos incl taxes and one room via expedia.ca for $69 Cdn incl taxes for one night.
The good things: 3 blocks to the Zocalo, free high speed in room wi-fi, large flat screen TV with excellent picture quality and basic breakfast incl. Missing things: faces clothes, clock, drink glasses, the advertised microwave, fridge and eating utensils. The biggest let down was zero hot or even warm water, the entire stay. The rooms are small but a queen versus the double bed provided would be preferred. We are Spanish challenged and the hotel staff English challenged. The hotel indicates they are a boutique hotel. We think small hotel with aspirations would be a better moniker.

Spent the weekend end here about two weeks ago and I must say was very pleasantly surprised at how nice it was and how great the service was. The rooms were huge and the bathrooms very modern. The front desk personnel were especially kind and helpful even bringing coffee to our room on the date of our departure. So nice! and the location could not have been better. The historic plazas and beautiful architectural sights were all a couple of blocks from the hotel. The rooms were a bit dark, but I love that. I was able to sleep in for a change. The continental breakfast was simple but sufficient and the lady tending the breakfast counter was very nice and accommodating. The staff really made our stay enjoyable.

Room Tip: Our room was near the front desk which was a little noisier but we managed to sleep well. Also pleas...
