Upon arrival, the resort had a very safe feeling about it and a extremely well keep grounds. Check in was a little slow due to all the paper work but well worth the wait. We were on a time share exchange through Interval International the room was a two bedroom with a kitchen, the view was ok we faced the entrance to the hotel but how much time do you really spend in the room when you have a beach and a pool!! lots of things to do for adults as well as kids especially the aligator water slide a great big hit!!.

We first went to P.Village in 2005 on a family vacation, we were hooked! We were so surprised, how it was soooo
geared for the whole family, it keeps the kids happy and us big kids too :) you can lay by the activities pool have cocktails and lunch or go to the beach and read and play in the bay, or swim lapsing the adult lap pool.

Room Tip: marina side is quieter and the pool side the activity side. ask for a pad for your bed if you like a softer mattress.

Gym use is extra, drinks are pricey, room by lobby is extremely noisy with telephones ringing, clipped parrots screeching and traffic, staff walk in without knocking so be prepared, air conditioner is noisy in room, distance from town and they will shut the main pool down for fiesta dinners!

Room Tip: Do not get one by the lobby

We are ending our week here at Paradise Village. It was our first time here and before arriving we were a bit skeptical after reading many unfavorable reviews. Let me clarify.
We exchanged intp PVR. We got a 2 bd 2 ba in the Coba Tower overlooking the Marina on the 4th floor. The view was beautiful, one story higher would have been perfect! Palm trees obstructed the view just a bit. Our balcony was huge. Stetched the length of our entire unit. Everything spotlessly clean. The furniture in the Coba tower needs updating. The kitchen and baths are new with granite and marble but the living room furniture was old style rattan, not comfortable and smelled musty. Not complaining, but I would rather have clean than new. It was way clean just not new. Beds-HARD.
Grounds are beautiful. Someone always cleaning or gardening.Flowers and trees stunning.
The tigers are housed in an encasement containing a waterfall and pool and space to roam. I personally didnt think they looked all that healthy but then again I am no expert on Bengal tigers.
The parrots are beautiful.
The activity pool is busy!!! With that said the activities team do a fantastic job. They have things to do all day long and into the evening. Kids have a ball here. There are activities for all ages and very fun to watch.
The tim share pushers are around. We were approached on a number of occasions but politely said no each and every time and had no further problem.
Getting around is a learned proccess. The bus stop is close and we are getting proficient at riding the bus. Read what it says and you will know where it goes! Rocket science at its best.!
We went downtown 3 times and enjoyed it every time. Did the "boardwalk" all the way to the end of old Puerto Vallarta. Good exercise, lots to see, and lots to buy if you so choose.Tons of restaurants many right on the beach, literally.
Wal Mart and Sams Club is the place to change buses. It is also the cruise ship port. All about 25 min from PVR by bus.
We were asked to wear wristbands which we did for the entire week. They are an easy target for salespeople all over the place. But we didnt want to risk not being allowed back to the resort.
The beach is big and beautiful. The water is murky. Unlike Cancun. Puerto Vallarta is on a bay.Cancun is at the tip of the Yucatan with the Carribean and Atlantic Oceans making the water so spectacular. The water here not clear or blue. Pretty from afar but nothing compared to Cancun.
Shopping: There is a plaza right outside the gates of PVR. But you will pay. Nothing at bargain prices. Also a Starbucks right at the busstop.
Shop Downtown or on the boardwalk. There is also a constant stream of beach vendors. You are not getting any deals with these folks. They work for a company. You can haggle but still arent getting a bargain. Great entertainment however, One example: Vendors sell these cute little beach coverups in every color of the rainbow and beyond. The look almost crocheted. We watched all week long as the beach vendors were selling them. 20.00 (U.S.). Listened as one woman got hers for 15.00. We were downtown and I got one for 6.00 (70 pesos). Best deal of the week!!!
The Mexican Party on Monday night was great!!!! All you can eat and drink for 40.00 plus a night of entertainment. Cannot beat it. That is the only resort activity we did. Happy Hour every night 5-7 with 2 for 1 drinks.
All in all we will come back. Beautiful area. Brand new hospital down the street. Just in case you drink too much Mexican Water.........( tequila). :)

My husband and I have just returned from Paradise Village Beach Resort and Spa. It was fabulous ... from the phone call (Chelly) we received at home a few days before we left, to alert us to the potential issues at the airport to the servers around the pool and in the beach area (Janier, Salvia, Gabriel and Jorge) to the amazing maid who cleaned our room (I'm sorry but I didn't catch her name) ... everything was amazing. As cheesy at it sounds, having everyone welcome us 'home' when we first got there really felt nice. We have a time share with this resort but can go anywhere we want to go but we keep going back and as long as we can.
Thank you to everyone who made our trip so amazing!
See you soon,
Sandra and Ben

Room Tip: Both times we have been there we have been on the ocean side over looking the pool and have been on either the sixth or seventh floors. The pool is the main area where most of the events go on but everything is over by 10:30 so it doesn't affect the sleeping. Our rooms are on the west side of the building so the sun is on our balcony almost all day so it gets very hot there ... good for drying bathing suits but not for sitting out.
