My first 2 tank dive was with boat #4, the crew Director was Julio, who is a very fun guy along with Luis!
My two dives were with only other two divers, one of them very inexperienced. That could've potentially ruin the dives but, Dive Master Charlie did an excellent job accommodating the different divers' skills and experience.

There was plenty to see. He pointed at every interesting fact and took us to little tunnels and small caves.

Thank you Charlie for the great dives to Las Marietas.

From check in to offloading it was superbly managed. Excellent equipment, attentive dive leader in Fernando, who fixed my gear underwater, and even loaned me his own camera battery when mine was dead. Food and drink on board was plentiful and good, and the entire crew entertained on the way back to harbor.
The diving was cold for me at 60 degrees, but we saw humpback whales, eagle rays, morays, and lots of assorted fish and creatures, including lots of stingrays. The Marieta islands are definitely worth some diving if you are here.

Dove three days with Vallarta Adventures the second week of January 2014. This iis a large scale operation offering many different activities that operates in several resort towns in Mexico. The SCUBA componient is operated by a very competent and enthusiastic staff. They had a buy two get the third one free promo so I booked three days of diving out of Nuevo Valarta. If you are certified but haven't been diving in a year you must take a $40.00 refresher.
They ask you to arrive at 7:30 AM for an 8:30 AM boat departure for all SCUBA trips. Thery return around 2 - 3PM.
Price includes two tanks and full gear. Rental gear is OK; BC's are newer Scuba Pro, regs, well used Aqua Lung, full wet suit; some with noticeable repairs.
First day was a combo snorkel, paddle board, scuba tour to the Marietas Islands on their large catemaran; 18 divers and appox. 60 snorkelers!. Go big or go home!. The dive group included all experience levels. Visibility that day was about ten feet and reminded me of the murky lakes in Ontario, Canada. We did get wet and the trip was memorable for the close proximity humpback whale sghtings on the return leg. Institutional quantities of tuna salad, cold cuts, fruit, cheese and buns as well as open bar on the way back; recorded music, irrepressible MC on the micraphone keeping us pumpled up and a costumed, lipped sinc'ed skit by staff to an old Beatles tune added to the vacation buzz..
Day two to Anagados was better; just three divers and dive master Fernando who is exceptionally good. New dive boat; approx 25 feet with twin 130 hp outboards is open; no roof and head (toilet) is afterthought in small box; most went off back of boat except the female present. An hour + to dive site just West of Marietas in open ocean; eight to ten foot swells and back roll entry added to the navy seal theme. Best dive of trip had 50 feet of viz,, swim through tunels, crevases, abundent schooling fish, six junior manta's in formation and one giant manta in far distrance.
Day three to El Moro with five divers, had to make stop at marina in PV to pick up part of group. Whales 100 ft. from boat rolling and breaching on outward trip, amazing. It is breeding season, they are in the bay in large numbers all winter. Ocean calmer but viz not as good; intersting wall / shelf; vast amouit of schooling fish, green moray out of it's lair, nurse shark in cave resting. Dive mater Hugo, assistant Jose, boat captain and whale expert Hugo all very good and commited to making your experience a good one.
Wasn't expecting any diving when we booked our trip to PV so was happy to add another few to the resume.
