“Wonderful Place”
Reviewed 4 February 2013

We just spent 3 weeks at the Grand Luxxe Suites and it was very close to heaven. It is wonderful that cars are no longer allowed on the resort, that there is a central taxi center. It makes the resort much cleaner and safer.

Everything was great, the room, the people who helped us, the resteraunts, but best of all is living in a big gorgeous garden for three weeks.

To learn more about the resort, go to the Back of the House tour, with Antonio, and the Botanical tour to learn the names of the plants. And Antonio and his crew were wonderful to us. My 6 yr old grand-daughter LOVED face painting, bead making, cooky decorating, and the pools. Children activities every day would be apreciated, including something for the 5 year old "dude" I love dearly. Raul, the conceirge on level 7 was one of the nicest, most helpful persons I have ever met. The maids were great. Check-in and Check-out were easy and fast. Try checking in earlier on a Friday, less people.

Chavez, the owner has created a wonderful entertaining warm environment for us in Mexico. We look forward to next winter.

Just read some of the recent reviews. Saw someone who just bought Mayan Palace, loved it but still uncertain. We also started with a Mayan Palace and have been upgrading through the years. We currently have 9 weeks at the Spa Residence. It is an amazing company with amazing vision. I have been extrememly happy with our purchases. Our family and friends have enjoyed many wonderful vacations with us. Enjoy your purchase and have confidence that you made a good decision.

The check in process is awkward---you arrive at a central dispatch and then get sent by cart to your condo. It would be easier if the cab could just take you to your condo building. It is now a two step process and by the time you are done, you have tipped about 6 people!

We got put on the first floor in the back of a building under construction. We could have dealt with the view of dead trees and a mucky pond, but the noise of jackhammers and drills and hammers all day long is very frustrating. We cannot sit out on our deck due to the noise.

We know of several people that had their room reassigned, but they refused to move us. Worse than that, they said tomorrow...then tomorrow came...and then it was the next day...and then it was Friday.....and now it is Sunday. What happened to honesty? No one could explain why others where moved and they refused to move us. No one seems to have any authority. We were willing to move from a two bedroom down to a one bedroom or even a studio. We were willing to move from the Grand Luxxe to one of the other less exclusive properties. We felt with our accommodations, they could find us another room--but no luck.

I think the development has gotten too big to continue to give top notch service.

Room Tip: Building 3 in the Grand Luxxe is under construction and it is a very long walk to the pools and beac...

Employees are great but management is as bad as it can possibly be. If you like to be inconvenienced then come here. Want to go off site - good luck. Arrive and be treated like crap then you have come to the right place. The owner thinks that treating you like a third world citizen is a good thing. The whole management system is complete BS. If you like to be frustrated and spend many hours of your holiday getting what you paid for then this is your place. If not then choose anywhere else in the area.

Room Tip: Don't come here!!

Just returned from 2 weeks at the resort. It gets better each year. Yes, they are still under construction and some people are put off by it, but it's not that bad and what they are doing makes it well worth a little noise. Besides, they are fun to watch. We enjoyed the new Santuario complex, music and entertainment, bars, waterfalls and fountains and relaxation.

We upgraded to the new 3 bedroom Spa Tower that should be complete in November and plan on 2 weeks there next January. We have weeks that we can rent out as well. The spa room comes with a massage table and a steam room in the suite! I can't wait! We had a massage in the new Spa building and it's just perfect. The chandeliers are fantastic!

This is my place for sun, pools, great food and relaxation! The service people can't do enough to accommodate your every request.

Room Tip: Ask for one facing the river and Puerto Vallarta. They had some fireworks at night and looked specta...

THe resort is always updating and making their propery BETTER so there is construction going on around the Luxxe Villas and Suites, but you can not hear it inside. THe grounds are fabulous with the beautiful plants and flowers, many pools and resaturants. You will encounter problems getting through the airport; however, from all of the Timeshare vendors. Just say NO THANK YOU AND KEEP WALKING to the end of the airport to the office where there will be representatives for Miller transport to transport you to the Resort Property. Once here, it is worth the little trouble getting through the airport. We recommend you Go to Claudios Place restaurant which is just about a 20 minute walk or 25 pesos taxi ride from the resort. It is great food at an inexpensive price and also Prime 159 restaurant for a more upscale steak restaurant which is also within walking distance. The area around the resort is safe and people are very friendly. Viist the Luxxe spa which opened few weeks ago, it is very accomodating relaxing and serene ! My husband plays golf and says the course is under some construction as well and the driving range is at a far distance from the course but course is nice.

We just stayed at our 2 bedroom unit for the past 2 weeks. There is nothing that I can complain about, so here goes all the plussses.
The resort is growing and each time you visit, there is something bigger and better. The new Santuario complex is beautiful with waterfalls, bars and live entertainment. Each evening, a pianist, saxaphonist, vocalist, dancers and an amazing sand artist perform. It is a wonderful complex to relax, enjoy after and before going to dinner. The pool areas are large, spacious with plenty of shade and lounge chairs. The staff around the pool are helpful, entertaining and truly enjoy their jobs. During the day, they approach you wanting to clean your sunglasses, offering ice pops and cold towels. It's living the life of luxury!
The concierge on each floor is helpful and willing to do just about anything to make your stay comfortable and enjoyable. They will even wash, dry and fold your laundry and return it to your unit for a $650 pesos. Fresh morning coffee available on your floor. The grounds on the resort are kept beautiful, clean and manicured. The new gym, in Building 2 is amazing. There are more machines and equipment than free standing fitness centers. Staff is always available to to explain how to use the machinery. A Grand Luxxe vacation is exactly what it is... Pure Luxury! Can't wait to return!
