“This place is a gem! Clean and fresh, worked around allergies”
Reviewed 7 March 2014

I was nervous eating ceviche in Mexico for two reasons -- health and I'm allergic to shellfish. The owners are delightful people and the place is spotless. The food was delicious and very fresh. My friends eat ceviche everywhere and said it was great. I had ceviche and a fish taco and loved them. My other friend has to have a gluten free diet. The chef/owner was very careful in our food preparation and we had no problems. Don't forget to bring your own beer/wine and be prepared for it to take a while, she prepares everything to order. It's worth the wait. It's not a "atmosphere" place, a little like a small cafe in a mall, but pleasant enough and since the food is good, why complain? We sat outside and it was breezy, bring a sweater in the evening. And target lunch/early dinner, she buys the fish daily and was almost out by 6pm.

Hola NotNancy! First of all, we would like to thank you for taking a moment to post a review on our TripAdvisor page!
We are very happy to read we met your expectations! At Manao Cebichería, we understand you might be quite nervous when it comes to eating raw fish. Our staff is highly trained in food hygiene and safety. We are extremely cautious with every single dish we serve so you have nothing to worry about. We take our customers' food allergies very seriously and try to guide them through our menu to make the right choice. We are aware that gluten allergy has recently become a very common food allergy, which is why we offer 8 different gluten-free cebiches and gluten-free crackers and tostadas!
As you mention in your review, everything we use is fresh and prepared to order which is why our service takes time. At Manao Cebichería, we do not have a liquor license yet, however we are happy to open your bottle of wine free of charge (fee per broken glass applies).
Manao Cebichería is open Monday thru Saturday from 12pm - 8pm, however we buy fresh fish every morning to ensure great quality in every dish we prepare and sometimes sell everything before closing time. We recommend you make a reservation so we can save enough fish for your party.
It was an absolute pleasure to have you with us at Manao Cebichería and hope to see you again soon!

Hola Stan K! First of all, we would like to thank you for taking a moment of your time to post a review on our TripAdvisor page. All your comments are taken very seriously.
We are honored to read that you consider Manao Cebichería one of your favorite restaurants in the area. As you mentioned on your review, we specialize in cebiches, which is a cold dish prepared with raw fish, marinated in lime juice and mixed with different fruits and vegetables (depending on the preparation you choose). All the ingredients we use at Manao Cebichería are fresh and local, offering our customers excellent quality and delicious flavors.
Since we prepare everything the moment you order it, our service is slow and the time to prepare may vary between 25 to 35 minutes.
The cebiches you had are delicious! The Manao preparation has onions, carrot, cucumber, jícama, a special blend of aromatic oils, soy sauce and lime juice. The Peruvian is a very traditional cebiche prepared with onion, cilantro and chile and is topped with sweet potatoe puree and corn. The Tropical is a very fresh and fruity cebiche prepared with onion, green apple, pineapple, guava, peach and lime juice. Since everything is prepared to order, we can add ingredients of your choice, in this case we added a little bit of shredded coconut to your Tropical cebiche. As you mention, our working hours are from 12pm to 8pm from Monday thru Saturday.
It was a pleasure to have you with us at Manao Cebichería. We really hope to have the chance to have you back soon!

“Great meal and fresh fish!!”
Reviewed 2 March 2014

I have been to Manao Cebicheria several times, and whenever I go I'm never disappointed!! They have a great variety of the freshest fish with very unique and delicious blends of flavors. Last time I ate there, I had the mahi mahi Caribbean ceviche, the fish was very fresh and firm with a combination of local fruits and vegetables. The owners of the restaurant are very knowledgeable, and they genuinely care for their customers. They will give you menu recommendations and descriptions until you find the right dish. I recommend this restaurant to anybody that wants to enjoy a great meal with a homey atmosphere.

At Manao Cebichería, we take your comments very seriously. As you mention, all our ingredients are fresh and local to guarantee the highest quality and freshness in every dish we serve.
The Caribbean cebiche you had is delicious. It is prepared with red bell pepper, onion, pineapple, shredded coconut, lime juice, a sweet coconut sauce and, in this case, Mahi-Mahi. At Manao Cebichería, you get to choose your fish for your cebiches. Every day we buy fish from local fishermen and we usually offer a minimum of three different fish for you to choose from.
We are delighted to read we keep meeting your expectations in our service and food. It is always a pleasure to have you with us and hope to see you back in the near future!

“A Very Special Meal prepared by a Very Special Couple”
Reviewed 2 March 2014

Last night, March 1 we enjoyed one of the best dining experiences of our lives. We were a bit apprehensive about a meal of raw fish , but I have seldom been disappointed with Trip Advisor recommendations. This was confirmed when we mentioned Manao to our neighbours at Paradise Village and they came back raving about it.

Going through the reviews, it has all been said before. Xihomara and Hassan are the hosts that you wish you had at every restaurant that you visit. They were attentive to the point where you thought that you were enjoying dinner in their home. Taking the time to explain their history and the many choices on the menu was very helpful. They took extra care in making sure that you have chosen the correct combination of fish and sauce for your cerbiche. The fact that you can bring your own wine with you is an added bonus.

My wife, Gail, ordered the Caribbean Mahi Mahi (Sweet) and I ordered the Chipolte Sailfish (Spicy), a perfect combination to share. Throughout the meal service was very attentive, with Xihomara and Hassan sharing their experience and dreams was us.

With their dedication and hard work I am sure that they will achieve their dreams.

If you are the least bit tentative about going because of the idea of raw fish, don't be. You will not be aware that the fish is raw once it has been marinated in lime juice and mixed with your chosen sauce.

This is a very special restaurant owned by a very special couple, we will be back before we head north and again when we return.

Happy Birthday again, Xihomara, thank you for sharing it with us.

Your new friends, Wayne and Gail

Hola Wayne and Gail! First of all, we would like to thank you for taking a moment of your time to post a review on our TripAdvisor page.
We are thrilled to read we met your expectations at Manao Cebichería. As you mention on your review, service is extremely important for us, which is why we try our best to make you feel comfortable and provide a personalized and attentive service to our customers.
It is our pleasure to explain our menu and concept, and help you choose the best dish on the menu for you.
At Manao Cebichería, our specialty is cebiche, which is a cold dish prepared with raw fish marinated in lime juice and mixed with different fruits and vegetables (depending on the preparation you choose). The two cebiches you had are delicious! The Caribbean is prepared with red bell pepper, red onions, pineapple, shredded coconut, and a sweet coconut sauce. The Chipotle cebiche is prepared with tomatoe, red onions, cilantro and a delicious chipotle mayonnaise. For your cebiches you get to choose your favorite fish from our catch of the day. All our fish is bought daily to ensure freshness and quality in every dish we prepare.
If you are not comfortable eating raw fish, don't worry, we are happy to steam the fish for you before we prepare your cebiche, making it 100% safe to eat!
We are very happy to have had you at Manao Cebichería, it was an absolute pleasure to serve you and we certainly hope to have you back soon!

“Manao Cebicheria”
Reviewed 28 February 2014

We have been coming to PV for 18 years, and have visited many local restaurants. Manoa Cebicheria is the best. We had read on tripadvisor that a young couple owned the business, and when my wife, daughter, and I walked into the small cozy restaurant we were seated by the wife. She took the time to explain their menu choices, and talked at length about the freshness of the different local fishes they used. Everything was made fresh to order, and preparation time was close to 30 minutes, which gave us the time to walk down the street and get a nice bottle of wine at a local mart. Our ceviche was presented in a white ceramic bowl. My wife and I both had sailfish. She had the Manao seasoning and I had the Peruvian. Our daughter had sSerra, a local fish, with a tropical seasoning. Since everything is made to order, you could modify your cerviche to your liking. Well worth the trip, but remember they are only open from noon until 8PM
