“Beautiful and well-appointed self-catering in charming village”
Reviewed 24 April 2017 for a stay in April 2017

Like another reviewer said, the photos are good, but still don't do this place justice. Beautifully renovated place, with high ceilings, massive timber beams and creaky staircases. The kitchen is very well kitted out and had all the equipment I would expect to use in my kitchen at home. It even included a cupboard of basics provisions to get us started. The proprieters are charming and couldn't be more helpful - and provided high chair and cot. There is free parking nearby, handy shops in the town (Spar, boulangerie, butcher) and supermarkets a short drive away and having arrived on the Saturday, the Sunday morning market was ideal to stock up on gourmet treats and local produce for the week ahead. There are lots of things to do in the area and with a bit of research we even found some nice country walks out of the village that avoided the main roads. Proximity to Bergerac airport was another big bonus.

“Lovely accommodation in a fascinating old bastide town”
Reviewed 11 September 2016 for a stay in August 2016

The accommodation was in a beautifully restored and tastefully decorated old house, very comfortable and well equipped. It was ideal for us and our extended family, with two bedrooms and two bathrooms. The large kitchen/dining area leading into a courtyard garden was excellent. The owners were very friendly and helpful. With a boulangerie/patisserie 30 metres away, and the rest of the town not much further, it proved to be a very pleasant place to spend three weeks.

We were delighted with this stylish, clean superbly dressed rental within the old city walls of this small bastide village . The photo of the sunny balcony and cool courtyard garden don't do it justice.
Lovely bedroom and ensuite bathroom comfortable clean large light lounge new sofas and throw mixed with charming antiques but with said sunny 20ft balcony. Efficient kitchen, just what gites should be but often are not. The attention to dressing the rooms with a selection of books, fan,s paintings and more made it very sweet.
Issigeac an excellent choice as mostly pedestrianised with 3 boulangeries a few bars and restaurants and brocants and galleries. Enough to keep you interested without overwhelming .

Would highly recommend the restauran tl' Abbeye in Cadouin for it's 16.50 euro lunch. Go early as foos so good you wont get a table otherwise. Workmen locals and visitors all go as such great old fashioned french food, think garlic soup, crudites duck confit and truly historic illes flottante ,
