Very friendly and efficient staff. The owners are welcoming if a little eccentric(in a good way) and attentive. The rooms have just the right amount of character, are large enough and spotlessly clean.
As mentioned by other reviewers the food is superb.Well presented without being too fussy, very good ingredients cooked to almost perfection.Tremendous value for the price.Reason alone for another visit.

We first visited here a couple of years ago and were suprised that the owners recoginised us on our return visit on the 14th December 2013 with my wifes parents.
We had such a good experience on our first visit, we were hoping we would not be disappointed ..... We were not!
The food was beautiful, the service was polite, efficient and friendly. The young chef's obviously work hard in the kitchens to produce quality food like they do and we will certainly not be leaveing it as long to return.

We have been visiting the Inn for quite a while now. We thought the food would take a dip in quality when the Head Chef left a few months ago, this could not be further from the truth. The food at our previous visit last week was better than ever and well done to the Chefs who have really stepped up to the mark.

The Front of House is just as good as it always has been.
We recommend this restaurant to everyone we know and always get good feedback.

Well worth a visit.

I am pleased to say that this place truly is on top form.

So glad I took my girlfriend their last night after not going for a while. Food was fantastic. My mussels were beautifully fresh for my starter, cooked in beer, which were perfecly cooked and no grit. These guys are obviously putting plenty of time and care into their cooking.

As for my main I had wild duck breast, which is in season at the moment. Lovely flavour, perfectly cooked. I asked for my duck to be as pink as it can be without being raw and this is what I received on my plate. I like to cook and know about food, but to cook meat this well is an art form.

All in all a great evening with great food and service. I have to say those AA rosettes are well deserved. Well done guys and thanks viki for looking after us.

We have just returned from a most pleasant visit to the inn; the food was excellent and we would certainly recommend the 'pie of the day' and the 'market fish of the day'. It is also pleasing to find that the owner and staff are most helpful an interested in your views. We were able to celebrate our anniversary in a most convivial atmosphere; we shall certainly return and recommend the Inn to our family and friends.

Had a lovely getaway night with taster menu which was fabulous.

Hosts were enthusiastic and chef was sociable

Great place to hide from the World as there is no phone signal!

Definitely would go back and looking forward to a winter break soon

Formerly a coaching Inn, our establishment today is an eclectic mix of traditional and contemporary décor. Its transformation began in 2001 when we bought it and over 18 months we set about a dramatic rebuild and restoration. Although many thought us foolhardy and overly ambitious, today, even much changed, the Inn evokes a sense of its own history. Above all else, we and our team work to ensure our guests enjoy the very best in hospitality. The Inn is a Grade 2 listed Georgian property, in a conservation area, located in the lee of Grinshill which is a site of special scientific interest and an area of outstanding natural beauty. There is a little train station in the next village which is a short stroll away, adding to the charm of this rural retreat. ... more   less
