“the best cottage we have stayed in”

The cottage is furnished beautifully and very well equipped. The owners provided a lovely cream tea for our arrival plus more food in the fridge, cupboards and breakfast basket - thank you . The village is quiet and sainsburys outside Dartmouth can supply any other needs.
The roads in Devon and Cornwall are mostly very narrow except fot the main ones so care is needed when driving. Totnes seemed to be a bottle neck most times we passed through so be prepared.
Didn't eat locally so can't comment. We enjoyed our visits to NT properties including Buckland Abbey and Overbeck's. Unfortunately the weather wasn't too kind us so limited our activities.

“Perfect place for a quiet relaxing holiday”

Situated in the middle of Cornworthy Village Pridhams is four miles from the nearest main road perfect for the holiday where you do not wish to be disturbed, but not to far from Dartmouth and Totnes driving along picturesque country lanes.
The cottage is a lovely two bedroom converted barn with the main living area on the upper floor which is full of character and very well equipped. The beds are very comfortable and relaxing. The terrace is a wonderful sun trap which the owners tend with loving care.
If you do need to make contact with the outside world a pay phone is available, but even better a short walk towards the church ( a couple of hundred metres away) a signal can be gained on your mobile
Torquay and Paignton are not far away if you like the more bustling side of holiday life but Buckfast abbey and the moors are also close by so a peaceful time is to be had.
If you like walking their are a number of walks you can take from the village including one which leads down to the creek and you can see the main Dart estuary.
A perfect place for a quiet relaxing holiday.

“Peaceful, comfortable and well equipped”

No mobile phone signal and difficult single-tracked narrow lanes to reach the village are negatives.
Positives are a well-equipped and comfortable cottage with helpful owners next door and a village full of very nice and friendly people.
The nearest shops are at least thirty minutes away by car and if (as it did for us) the telephone line in the cottage is down, you have no Wi-Fi or means of communicating with the outside world.

Management Response
13 Aug 2015
Thank you for your review. Just to clarify for anyone else looking to book the nearest supermarket in Dartmouth is 12 minutes drive away and Totnes 15 minutes. Closer village shops can be found in Dittisham and Harbertonford. Bearing that in mind the owner provides a generous welcome pack to start the holiday. We know the mobile signal is bad as it is in lots of rural areas - a few yards walk up the hill the signal improves.

“Excellent Holiday Cottage”

We have just returned from two weeks in this very comfortable & thoughtfully equipped cottage which benefits from a lovely private terrace garden. Located in a beautiful part of the South Hams within easy reach of Dartmouth & Totnes together with many good pub restaurants locally. An excellent welcome pack was provided by the warm & friendly owners who have made Pridhams one of the best holiday cottages we have stayed in.

Owners who live adjacent very helpful and friendly, large open plan room upstairs tasteful.
Bathroom and two bedrooms downstairs. Lots of little thoughtful touches, to make you feel welcome.
Road into and out of Cornworthy quite narrow with passing places. Approximately 4 miles from main road.
