“Motorhome friendly for an overnight stop”
Reviewed 11 June 2014

This was a good spot to park up for the night and to have a drink and a meal. We had been told that the pub had wi-fi but when we asked the landlord he told us that yes it did but was not available to just anybody! As most places these days offer free wi-fi we were left feeling like a couple of 'nobodies'! Our meals were o.k. but nothing special and when the landlord collected our plates we weren't asked whether we had enjoyed our meal or offered any pleasantries. After paying the bill we weren't thanked for our custom or wished a good night. Sadly, this pub has all the bones of being an excellent venue but for us it fell short.

“Great pub. Great craic.”
Reviewed 1 May 2014

Great pub with a fun landlord. The food's not bad but you have to go to see the 300' well and mill wheel. It's one of the nicest country pubs I've ever been to because it's a free house with proper character.

“Campervan friendly”
Reviewed 24 March 2014 via mobile

We have stayed in Milburys car park three times now, with other friends in their campervan too. Landlord has always been really friendly and welcomes us spending our money each evening on food and meals for 4. Excellent base for walking the South Downs Way. Beer and food great, and the log fire is outstanding. You may be required to share a big table with other pub goers, very unEnglish but great fun. Recommended for vannies, phone landlord first, only if fully independent van, leave car park as you found it, park right up in far corner.

“Fantastic Sunday Lunch”
Reviewed 30 December 2013

We had arranged a meet here for a local section of the HSV section of PistonHeads and I guess about 25 of us arrived at what already seemed a very busy pub judging by the car park! We had a very warm welcome and orders for good and drink were processed very quickly.

There was an excellent choice from both the normal menu and the specials board and my family (3 of us) decided we'd go for the Sunday Roast. My Wife had turkey and my Son and I had chicken.

Given the amount of people there the wait wasn't too long and when the good did arrive it was piping hot and the plates were big and plentiful.

The chicken was superb! Half a chicken, three proper home cooked roast potatoes, bacon wrapped chipolatas, stuffing, carrots, brussels and parsnips. It was absolutely massive, the chicken was cooked beautifully and everything was very tasty, no cheap Aunt Bessie tasting stuff here, it was without doubt the best Sunday Roast chicken pub dinner I've ever had!!

There was a great range of drinks too and I think very well priced, the cost for a roast each plus two drinks was £13 each.

“Out back and Beyond”
Reviewed 16 December 2013

We have been going to the Milburys since the late 1970s. Once a haunt of car enthusiasts. Still stuck in time. Vast array of beers and wines etc and surprisingly well kept. I say this because it is the ideal place to go in the snow in a 4 x 4 provided you know how to drive and it is not a 'chelsea tractor'. Having said that at other times the Milburys can be heaving , yet other times 1 or 2 patrons. The two log fires are probably the best you will see, why chuck a log on as 'Martin' the owner says, when a large tree limb will suffice and they are tree limbs burning for days. If you have not been there they have a indoor working 300 deep donkey wheeled well all fully lit. It is about 3 miles West of the 'T' junction at A32 at the Warnford, you take the road for Winchester 10 miles. Worth a visit or two, we think so. We hope you do to. Not open Sunday night Mondays, I think check with Martin.
