“An Grianan Serve Up a Real Treat with the Celtic Feast”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 25 March 2014

Credit must be given to the management and staff of this fine establishment for using their initiative and creating a fantastic visitor centre in this historic area of the country at the entrance to the beautiful Inishowen Peninsula. The highlight of its launch week was the brilliant Celtic Feast at the weekend and if it is a measure of what's to come on the future dates planned throughout the year, then now would be the appropriate time to enquire and get booked in so as not to miss out. With the mixture of good food, wine, music and dance, the atmosphere was electric, and with the pleasant and friendly staff (including manager Walter Figini) partaking fully, dressed in associated attire, this little village of Burt could give any tourist destination in the country a run for their money. NOT TO BE MISSED!!

Handy for Derry and Donegal especially inishowen peninsula. Really great staff particularly barney and Walter. Comfy furniture and quiet corners to be found in lobby lounge and bar. Great new restaurant in church out the back.

We returned for our (complimentary) anniversary dinner and it was the first time I'd eaten in the church restaurant. The food was outstanding! Could not fault a thing! The service was impeccable. Food delicious. Staff friendly and helpful and gave excellent advice on wine. Can highly recommend the fillet steak and the brownie. Relaxed atmosphere in sumptuous surroundings. We will definitely be back. Cannot stress how impressed we were with the whole experience.

A Groupon offer made a break here too tempting to miss! Plus, the ideal location for visiting surrounding scenery...despite the rain! Nothing too much trouble for the friendly, helpful staff. Spotlessly clean and nicely furnished bedroom, excellent breakfast, especially Scrambled eggs and smoked salmon...oodles of it! The meal in the Old Church restaurant was superb. Cuisine and ambience second to none! Minor complaint was the exceptionally speedy service!
Have to revisit, especially to see the Fort mist free!
As everything else was so perfect, I decided to wait till leaving to mention the rather "lumpy" mattress (room 106) and as it was 11pm when we went to bed and lay down for the first time, I didn't fancy a move! I'm sure the staff member I mentioned it to will investigate, so don't be put off! GO!!

Room Tip: Check mattress before unpacking!
