Just returned from 5 days staying in the 'Jurassic' self-catering apartment at the Chesil Beach Lodge and we are feeling very relaxed. Our apartment was light, spacious and very clean with fantastic views over National trust land (cows and rabits abundant) and the coast toward Lyme Regis. The apartment had everything we needed, and the milk in thre fridge and biscuits on arrival were a thoughtful touch. The owners were very pleasant and helpful without being intrusive. It was great to be able to get straight onto the coastal path from the garden. We ate at the beach cafe and tried for the Three Horseshoes in Burton Bradstock but it was very busy at the start of the main holiday season- would recommend booking a table. We would definitely like to go back and would stay in apartment again as we like the independence but the Bed and Breakfast rooms looked very inviting as well!

My partner and myself have now stayed in nearly all the self catering rooms....not yet had B&B but I suspect that too is excellent. I like to think that we discovered this place as we started staying not long after it was taken over and we have never been disappointed. Only disappointment at the moment is trying to afford getting back there and will do asap! Bathrooms are excellent........I think one self catering bathroom was still to be done up but hopefully that is either changed now or soon will be. Being so near the see is a real bonus as you feel the air is so fresh and clean and always sleep well here.

What can i say a weekend on our own in 10 years of marriage and perfect in every way.
Hosts were very welcoming and helpfull,We stayed in the Golden Cap room and looked out at the sea from one window and a lovly field with cows and rabbits out the side one as the room was dual aspect. The bed was comfy and the shower was luxury. The place was clean and spotless everywhere we looked and we hope to go back at some point with our children and dogs as it was peacefull bliss. The breakfast bought to you to eat in your room is lovely freshly cooked food and great choices with homemade fresh bread and proper dorset sausage and bacon etc and all of excellent quality. There is tea and coffee making and cafetiere in your rooms with little jarsd of preserves and milk in your fridge as well as cereal boxes to have which are replaced every day. There is not one thing i think could improve this place and to anyone who wants a quiet scenic break by the sea i dont believe you will find a better place.Thank you for such an enjoyable break and i cant wait to come back again soon.

We stayed for one night - I booked it as a birthday surprise for my other half - but wished we could stay longer. Linda was so friendly and welcoming and very kindly gave us a room upgrade (Golden Cap) which was a lovely surprise. The views were fantastic. A spacious room, lovely comfortable bed and great en suite. There's cereal, tea and coffee etc and milk in your own little fridge in the room and the delicious hot breakfast is delivered at the time you request so you can sit at your own table and look out at the view. Absolutely magical. We'll definitely go back.

We stayed in one of the B&B rooms for a long weekend. The location is superb, the most wonderful views of the sea and Jurassic coastline, a garden to use, and a clifftop walk, with lots of rabbits to watch!
Our room was light, spacious, spotlessly clean, and nicely decorated. It was well equipped with a very comfortable huge super-king bed, a large TV and a small fridge. We had a very nice en-suite shower room too.
Breakfast was served in our room, at a time of our choice, with a good selection of choices.
The staff were friendly and helpful.
We definitely plan to go back, and may take a self-catering apartment as we will have a baby with us!

I booked this on the basis of the reviews in Trip advisor - on arrival everything seemed to match the reviews. Room - very tidy and well presented, Parking - sufficient, location - excellent.
My and my wife's only issue was the room (Burton) after four days became very cramped and I would suggest any future guests to opt for the larger rooms - we had no choice as it was the only one available. Also the bed was described as King size but was more a queen size - we have a king at home and its bigger and the walls between the rooms were very thin - I like conversation but not with guest next door!
Breakfast was as described and local food in the pubs was excellent. Location too was top marks especially being so close to the sea.
Finally - view was very good particularly as the planes were not flying and the week we stayed was crisp, fresh and sunny every day.

We are sorry that these guests did not fully enjoy their stay but we do appreciate the constructive feedback which will focus our attention as we continue our drive to improve Chesil Beach Lodge.

All our recently refurbished B&B rooms and self-catering apartments have upgraded sound insulation in line with current hotel standards. Only part of this B&B room has so far not been upgraded. This has not been brought to our attention as an issue previously but now that it has we will bring forward plans to address the concern. As a result it is now in our plans to convert this room and an adjacent room into a superior B&B room / studio apartment just as soon as we can.

We are concerned to hear that the guests thought the bed was not a king size. Having double checked against UK bed standards we can assure them that it is definitely a king size. All the beds in Chesil beach lodge are recently new, either king size or superking size and have superior sprung mattresses.

Rest assured we take all our guests comments seriously and if brought to our attention while guests are staying we will do our best to remedy any concerns immediately.
