Staying out with work a lot you get to stay in a variety of places. The Pack Horse has out shone them all! The place was spotlessly clean, my room comfortable with proper milk and a tea pot as well as fresh fruit and free internet.
The bar had two open fires which were roaring away, great pub food and 4 real ales on tap. I tried two which were well kept. My evening meal was excellent and breakfast was too. Staff where friendly and it was all good value as well. I could not fault the place, it really was first rate.
I have stayed in some up market hotels that could learn a lot from the Pack Horse- It was just so clean!

My wife and I were looking for someplace to stay while visiting the Peak District and came across this place while searching on-line. I must say I was completely impressed...lovely, comfortable accommodations with some of the best views around. A delightful selection of teas and biscuits in the room...and the complementary fruit bowl was a nice touch. We didn't get the chance to eat Dinner at the Inn, but the breakfast the next morning was fabulous, with locally sourced meats. The friendliness of the staff was incredible--these folks know what customer service is all about. We're already planning our next trip!

Room Tip: Book early...

Nice bar and restaurant with 4 real ales - all superb.
Comfortable rooms with bright, modern bathroom. Very clean. Free internet.
Bowl of fruit and flask of milk in room - nice touches.
Staff made me a take-out sandwich as we had to leave before the morning fry up - excellent service.

This Derbyshire inn offers great (4 star) accommodation: warm, clean, comfy room, hot drinks facilities (including a flask of cold fresh milk for tea and coffee!), fruit, sweets (locally made), biscuits, bathroom/shower toiletries, extra blankets and pillows. Excellent breakfast and full dinner menu offering great meals served in generous portions. The inn has a great atmosphere with open wood fires and friendly, helpful reception, restaurant and bar staff, a great view and is close to the Peaks, Chatsworth, Buxton and other tourist attractions.

Room Tip: The Inn has two ground floor rooms ideal for anyone who has problems with stairs.

What a lovely little find! We were looking for a friendly, welcoming inn & this was it. The food was good hearty food & plenty of it! Traditional decor & the warm cosy open fire was perfect. Our room was cozy, clean & plenty of thought had gone into the detail of what to offer from a bowl of fruit, a box of Twinnings Tea, Hot Chocolate & biscuits. Bed was very comfy & the shower room had plenty of space & again very clean & tidy. Only one minor issue the room above seemed to have little insulation. Breakfast was delicious, suffice to say the full English was a perfect start to our day! Owners & staff were all very friendly, we would stay here again for sure if we're back in the area!

Bathroom toiletries available and full tea and coffee making facilities. Superior room room also included a bowl of fruit!!

Room Tip: Booked both a superior and executive room and both were excellent.

I went here for my anniversary of being with my boyfriend for 2 years. I was so nice when we pulled up, it is situated in beautiful countryside. The staff were so friendly and accommodating, they really went out of their way to help us settle in. We stayed for food, it was amazing in the evening and the breakfast was also to die for. Would recommend to all, and will be paying a visit there in the future.
