“Lovely dog walk!”
Reviewed 20 December 2013

We had a lovely hours walk from Thornsett into New Mills with our three little dogs..... Views lovely passing the reservoir..... Could be perhaps a little eary if you are alone as its quite secluded in parts of the walk but lovely walk with woods en route for the dogs to run off into.

An easy, level walk along the track bed of the disused railway line between Hayfield and New Mills. Be sure to visit the Visitors Centre in New Mills.

Reviewed 25 November 2013

Old railway track now a footpath / cycle path / bridleway to Hayfield. Nice walk, nice cafes and pubs at both ends. What more could you want?

“Great for Beginner Cyclists!”
Reviewed 29 August 2013

In my opinion this is one of the nicest trails in the area, and has recently proved great in helping my 6 year old son gain confidence in learning to ride his bike. The trail is wide enough for wobbly cycling and quiet and flat enough to not scare either my son or my 4 year old daughter. Apart from the physical attributes, the trail itself is beautiful with lots of varied trees and views. We will all be going back soon!
