We came across the Lodge while looking for something mid country to meet our Daughter and Grandaughter, the pictures and reviews sold it to us. We couldn't get here till midnight from London area so I rang and spoke to Kim asking if my daughter could check us all in and collect our key this was no problem for Kim at all. The hotel is beautiful with excellent views and not to isolated as pub just along the road. Honesty bar is fabulous idea and everything about the place is ace. Will definately stay here again. Thankyou Kim xxx

we stayed here for the weekend and had a very relaxing time, starting off with a dip in the hot tub, very relaxing and a bonus for travellers who have aching muscles, a large snooker table (I nearly beat my hubby). We stayed in Room 1, Luxury room, fantastic window looking over the goats pen. This isn't the easiest place to find so drive slowly once you reach The Famous Shoulder, We had some speed merchant up our bum and he nearly went in the back of us, why do people on country roads think they have to drive fast. Breakfasts served with a smile, pre-ordered the day before, with a great choice of cereals & cooked breakfast options. The place was lovely and clean and the room was immaculate, Don't forget to bring your cossy & flip flops for the hot tub, plastic glasses though in the hot tub - no glass

Due to a flood in our home, we have had to stay in alternate accommodation, for one night we had to change Hotels, This was when we found this beautiful small hotel only 3 miles from our home. The location, Hotel owner, room, food, service can only be described as first class, Our room was number 1, a large double on suite with a beautiful apex window, overlooking the Derbyshie countryside, on National Trust land.
I wish we had stayed here all our time out, the service was truly exceptional, and for people visiting our beautiful Derbyshire Countryside, stay here. I cannot speak highly enough about this small but superb hotel, and thats not to say, our other Hotel was not good it was and subject to a report when we check out. i forgot the full size snooker table, gymnasium, sauna, heaven

Room Tip: This hotel has a full sized snooker table, a Gym Sauna, Spa etc Room 1 is fantastic,. If you are w...

Stayed here last weekend. I was a bit surprised that we had to phone to get Kim over to check in. Her home computer was out of order and she had no idea of the booking and when we were checking in or about any special requests. If you are running a business you need to be on top of the game.Kim is lovely and very friendly and accommodating and the room was great. Very modern and spotless. It was a pity there was no bar or restaurant. The hot tub and sauna were obviously not in operation so that was a tad disappointing. Kim commented that the honesty bar/fridge needed stocking up. When we returned from dinner a few hours later from the pub next door we wanted a bottle of white wine but the honesty bar/fridge had not been re-stocked. There was a problem with the shower in the morning it would not switch on - low water pressure and had to go find Kim to find out why. Maybe we could have been told that and what to do in the beginning. When it was time to leave and pay our bill we wasted a lot of time trying to locate Kim.

we stayed here 17/5/14. My husband and I had been travelling all over the North for the week staying at a different hotel/B&B every night. This was by far the best and we would love to return and stay longer for a holiday and not just while passing through whilst working. We were warmly greeted and shown around by Kim, you can tell this lodge is her pride and joy and so she should be proud of it. We had a lovely view from our room. As soon as I stepped out of the car and saw a pen of goats which I adore, I knew I would enjoy my stay. The decor is clean and welcoming in the entrance (with a master piece statue of horses), plus in our room and the fantastic bathroom the decor was also very pleasing to the eye, which also was complete with ornaments, it felt like a home from home. Not only did you get the usual tea and coffee making facilities, but also there was a bottle of water each and biscuits; we had stayed in 6 different hotels in the week and this sweet B&B was the only place that thought to do this. My only regret is we didn't have time to stay for breakfast as needed to get on the road early, it smelt delicious. Thank you Kim for your hospitality. Good luck for the future.

Arrived at this fantastic hotel to be met by the owners parents Alice and Dennis. We were very early for check in but they let us have our room. they showed us round the rooms and the outside of the hotel. sat and had a cup of tea with them and they made us feel so at home. decor is very modern. we had room 1 which is the largest of the rooms with a fantastic arched window.Impeccably clean throughout. there was a hot tub, sauna, gym, large snooker table and large lounge. there is a fridge and an honesty bar. you choose your breakfast the night before and when we had it in the morning it was the lovelies breakfast i have ever had. there were some goats and a new baby goat had arrived. I just want to thank Alice and Dennis for making our stay memorable they are such a lovely couple.

Room Tip: definitely room one but if you want it really quiet then the ground floor with entrance onto the pat...

For a relaxing stay in chesterfield book Whitton Lodge. We stayed for a long weekend over Easter 2014 and was greeted by the owner Kim like we were already friends. The rooms are large well furnished and decorated and spotlessly clean. We had the surprise of not only chocolates on the pillow but also an Easter egg. The communal areas, like the room, are spotlessly clean. The breakfast is far better than in any hotel I have stayed in. The selection of the breakfast choices is amazing. If you are thinking of going up to the peak district for any reason then definitely stay here.
