“A beautiful cottage in a gorgeous location”
Reviewed 30 April 2018 for a stay in January 2018

We stayed in this beautiful cottage in November last year and loved it so much we booked again for my birthday trip in January. The décor is both stylish and homely, and it is spotlessly clean. The cottage is dog-friendly and the garden is secure for them to roam. The front room has a gorgeous stone fireplace with log burner to keep you toasty. There are lots of great walks directly from the cottage, Longstone Edge and Monsal Trail. There is a shop in the village (and a voucher from the owners, for you to use on your arrival - a lovely gesture) and two good pubs, both dog friendly, we have eaten at the White Lion a number of times, always great food. We also highly recommend the Packhorse Inn at Little Longstone which is walking distance, a 'proper' pub, roaring fires and fantastic food and the Stables Bar at Monsal Head, a really quirky lovely place.
It snowed during our stay in January and it was heaven!
The owners of the cottage are really helpful and friendly and we would highly recommend to all our friends and family, we cannot wait to return, again and again!

“Fabulous cottage in fantastic location”
Reviewed 7 April 2018 for a stay in April 2018

We have just returned from a wonderful few days at Buttercup Cottage. As soon as we arrived, we were immediately impressed by how spotlessly clean and modern it is. Despite the cottage being stylish and contemporary, it still retains all the character of a 1700s stone cottage with many delightful original features such as the a stunning stone fireplace. The cottage has been cleverly extended to maximise the space which ensures it feels very spacious - plenty of room for a family of four. Furthermore, it is exceptionally well equipped - making it a real home from home.

The location of the cottage is also excellent as you can easily and quickly reach Bakewell, Matlock Bath, Buxton. Chatsworth, Castleton etc. by car. In addition, it is a perfect base for walking. In my opinion, Buttercup Cottage offers everything you could possibly want no matter what sort of holiday you are planning.

“fab few days away”

Spent three nights at this beautiful cottage-fantastic location-ideally situated for lovely walks-close to some great pubs-Buttercup Cottage is immaculately presented inside and out-would highly recommend.

“Fantastic Cottage”
Reviewed 21 March 2018 for a stay in March 2018

We had a wonderful three night break in Buttercup Cottage. The facilities and amenities were of a very high standard and it felt like home from home. The location is brilliant for walks directly from the door. There are some great pubs in the area, two within walking distance. We look forward to our next stay, thank you to the owners for being very helpful and welcoming.

“A brilliant cottage in a great spot”
Reviewed 15 January 2018 for a stay in January 2018

Buttercup Cottage met all our needs and provided the quality and comfort we were looking for. We recommend it wholeheartedly. The village has a well stocked little shop, two great pubs and fabulous walks from the doorstep. We stayed four nights and have only scratched the surface of all there is to do in the area. We certainly hope to return.

“Wonderful cottage”
Reviewed 17 December 2017 for a stay in December 2017

We would highly recommend this cottage - very nicely equipped with good furnishings and fittings, warm with efficient heating, quality bedding and towels and secure dog friendly garden. Great village location for walks, nearby stately homes, historic towns and big choice of tea rooms and dog friendly pubs. The nearby Crispin, White Lion and Packhorse inns were all ideal for evening meals and dogs allowed in bar areas. We stayed in mid December so had the worst of the snowy, icy spell but the cottage was so cosy and the pubs all had roaring fires - perfect! We would return in a heartbeat...
