We recently stayed at this blissful little b&b.
Firstly, the location, the farm is in the picturesque peak district. After driving down a tiny road, it suddenly opens out into a scene from a James Herriot book. Rolling hills and the distant mooing of cows, reminds you that you have stepped away from the hustle and bustle of everyday life.
The B&B itself was decorated to a very high standard and felt cosy and welcoming. As part of your stay you have use of the bedroom and the conservatory exclusively where a sumptious breakfast is served. We can heartily recommend the sausages, bacon & eggs all free range from the farm itself. Jo and Veronica were very attentive hosts and nothing was too much trouble, they even booked us in for our evening meal at the local pub and we really appreciated them going the extra mile for us.
A decent B&B can be hard to find but dont hesitate to book this hidden gem - you wont be sorry.
If you are ever looking for the perfect place to stay in and around this picturesque part of England look no further than Oaks Lane Farm.
Jo and Veronica are superb hosts and went out of their way for me when I stayed for a local wedding. I couldn't fault a thing and the full English breakfasts in the mornings are pretty much unrivaled.
I would definitely go back in the future and wouldn't hesitate to recommend this place to any of my friends.
We stayed bed and breakfast for a night and wished we were there for longer. Our room was spacious, well appointed and comfortable with a lovely bathroom and separate shower. Everything has been well thought out for both comfort and practicality including somewhere to leave muddy boots and hang coats. There is also a delightful conservatory to sit in overlooking a really pretty garden. It was so quiet and peaceful. Veronica and Jo have created a really warm and welcoming home from home. And the breakfast was absolutely delicious - an excellent choice of fresh produce - much home produced. We were hoping to book their cottage for a week in the early autumn but unsurprisingly they are fully booked when we had hoped to come. But we hope to be back....
Veronica & Jo were hospitable while still allowing us our privacy. Their gardens are a delight. The breakfast in the conservatory was delectable, and I'm still savoring their apple blackberry jam. Well worth drive!
Lovely cottage, lovely area and lovely helpful hosts. The colourful, thoughtfully arranged garden was visible not only from the conservatory but the bedroom too. It was incredibly tranquil and peaceful, therefore very relaxing.
Nothing was too much trouble, Veronica promptly fetched an iron and ironing board on request.
The homemade preserves were lovely, as was the breakfast produced largely on the farm.
A lovely modern bathroom completed everything we needed.
We would dearly love to stay here again.
Hidden away down narrow lanes, this B&B is a charming little place within striking distance of the Peak District, especially Chatsworth House.
It's also a great location for local walks, and is only 5 minutes from a decent pub in Kelstedge.
Since this B&B has only one room, it's ideal if you like don't want to share with anyone else. We loved having use of the conservatory that overlooks the attractive gardens.
The room itself is spacious and has a nice en-suite with a bath and shower.
Jo and Veronica are great hosts, and went out of their way to make sure we had a great time.
Stayed here for a short break in May, the room was lovely, spacious and immaculately clean. We ate the very tasty breakfast in the conservatory looking out over the lovely gardens and countryside beyond. Perfect spot for a peaceful break, and walks from your doorstep, but just a short drive to all the tourist spots. Jo and Veronica are lovely, the perfect hosts, very friendly and helpful. Would love to have stayed longer but will definitely be back to visit again soon.
