“Excellent place to stay”

A perfect place to rent for a week, all very clean and tidy and restful. Lesley and Peter are a font of knowledge and not intrusive, and well worth bumping into for local knowledge about where to go and what to do. They also suggested variations to our day trip ideas which were well worth following.
The house is well stocked with local guide books and maps, and a folder full of ideas on what to do, where to eat and other general info like supermarkets/ petrol stations etc.,

Perfectly pet friendly and certainly our dog had a very warm welcome,

The area is perfect for a dog friendly holiday with lots of coastal walks, and also in land walks.

Though I would generally never stay in the same place twice, I probably will return here as it was so good,

wifi was weak but usable, which in a way was good as it meant you can not easily check e-mail all the time, and there was a mobile signal at the top of the garden, which also was good, being someone who is always connected it was really good from that point to, but there was access to wifi if needed,

Liked best: The whole thing was just great
Liked least: The shower in the en-suite was a bit under powered, but this was a very small matter.

“What an excellent place to stay”

We have stayed here for many years and its a brilliant place to stay. Dogs very welcome which is a must for us. The propperty comes with great amenties including dishwasher, washing machine, microwave oven and a main fan assisted oven. large comfortable rooms. It is well situated for the coast about ten miles and main town about ten miles but its so quiet. Large rear garden with tennis court which is good for the dogs. There is a field 200 yards (approx) which has two lakes one with fish the other with wildlife. Staying at this site we saw our first ever woodpecker at very close quarters. The owners Lesley and Peter Lewin are great hosts and cannot do enough for you.

“Delightful well-equipped house”
Reviewed 9 June 2012 for a stay in August 2011

Lake House is a very comfortable family house with a bright, spacious living room. Very well equipped in all respects - in fact better than the published information, as there was a freezer that we didn't expect. Everything you could want in the kitchen, and in the living room plenty of books, maps, games, and a wealth of information about the local area - detailed and reliable descriptions of walks, beaches, shopping, restaurants, riding, golf, etc. We enjoyed the extensive garden, which is shared with the other properties on the site, but we usually had it to ourselves and were always able to use the tennis court when we wished. The whole site is very well run and the owners, Lesley and Pete, are very helpful and friendly.
The village has a nice pub, but we found the immediate area pleasant rather than exciting. You will probably want to travel further afield, and the location is a good centre for visiting places such as Bude, Morwenstow, Clovelly and Hartland Point.

“Loved the location and very nice accomodation in deep Devon country”

This was our first visit to Devon and we could not have chosen a better location and place to stay. Lake House is spacious, comfortable and very well equipped. Mr & Mrs Lewin are very friendly and helpful hosts and the high quality information pack provided is of great benefit. The gardens are lovely and the hidden lakes/meadow area available to guests is a real gem. Bradworthy is an appealing, friendly working village with a surprising range of facilities set in the peaceful and delightful deep country of North West Devon. There is good access down attractive country roads to the coast, to a range of glorious gardens and to the routes to many attractions including the visionary Eden Project.
