Nuthatch is the best holiday cottage we have found over the years..
Lesley and Pete are just perfect, nothing is too much trouble for them.
The cotage oozes character and atmosphere which we love.
The dogs always have an enjoyble time in the beatiful gardens...Whole
package just PERFECT.

Just returned from our 13th holiday in this lovely upside down cottage,Lesley
and Peter perfect hosts, nothing too much trouble for them, very friendly
and helpful in every way. Cottage has character, charm and atmosphere
which we love. Beautiful gardens which our dogs love playing in with
resident dogs. Whole package just PERFECT..

“Beautiful, peaceful cottage atmosphere, shame about the damp.”

We were made very welcome and any queries were dealt with on the spot. The modernising had been done tastefully, preserving much country charm, and it was a perfect setting for a quiet holiday. True, the saniflow water system meant that even the smallest amount of waste water from any basin made a motor noise which could wake someone up, so it wasn't ideal from that point of view, but you expect to have to rough it a bit in a country context. Likewise, the phone and TV reception were patchy, but I don't mind that. What I didn't find tolerable, on the other hand, was the high humidity in the small shared bedroom (it's on the ground floor, which backs onto the garden, the source of the water), which sometimes made clothing damp. It didn't smell damp, but the dehumidifier had to be emptied each day and about two litres came out. That spoilt my pleasure, and I think the owners need to tackle the problem. However, it seems from the visitors' book that many people enjoyed the place enough to rebook several times, so perhaps others aren't so fussy.

“a delightful place to spend your holiday”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 8 January 2013 for a stay in May 2011

My partner and I stayed in Nuthatch Cottage in 2011 with our three dogs. It was a lovely cottage with excellent access to the huge garden. Close proximity to common land for walking the dogs. There were useful amenities in the village, including a butchers and a vets (which we had to make use of!). Would certainly recommend Lake House to friends and family.

“Lovely cottage, beautiful setting, easy access to wonderful countryside”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 18 September 2012 for a stay in August 2012

Nuthatch cottage is a beautiful cottage and we saw two nuthatches during our visit!!. We stayed with our two dogs during a wet August and appreciated the tiled entrance and hall to dry the dogs. Plenty of parking outside the front door. Pete and Lesley provide invaluable local information - particularly of the dog-friendly variety. Short walk to local village and shops. Short walk to Bradworthy moor - a firm favourite with the dogs. Cottage centrally situated for easy access to N Devon and Cornwall attractions and perfectly situated if you want a quiet break away from it all..

The Friendly owners have tried hard to provide everything you may need on your stay. Very comfortable cottage on outskirts of Bradworthy. In easy reach of great walking lovely beaches etc.
