“A lovely B&B in a lovely location.”
Reviewed 15 August 2014

We had a wonderful break at this lovely B&B. The accommodation, location, breakfast and hosts were just perfect which made it a holiday to remember. It was a pleasure to return every evening after a busy day out and about. We hope to return very soon.

This is the second or third time we have been to Rosemary Cottage Newchurch Isle of Wight and I would really recommend this B&B. It's the best ever! Dave and Emma Hughes are so welcoming and really lovely people. The rooms are huge as well are the beds! So comfortable! There are four huge bedrooms at Rosemary Cottage which in my opinion is excellent as it feels more home from home and does not feel overcrowded. The breakfast is out of this world, it's amazing, it's the best and sets you up for the day. The location of Rosemary Cottage is brilliant. It's close enough to all the main attractions (driving) i.e. Shanklin, Sandown ect..but it's in a very quiet location which is really very nice. I would also recommend the local pub The Pointer's Inn (just up the road you can walk it) this pub does amazing food. You must go! Well, what can I say Rosemary Cottage in Newchurch Isle of Wight is the BEST EVER! I came here with my husband and friends (another couple). They loved it too and it was their first time to Rosemary Cottage. We are going back again. We just love it!!

Room Tip: The rooms are named after birds. I had the Woodpecker room. It's the best.

Decided on a last minute one night trip to the Isle of Wight and called to see if I could get a late booking and am very pleased they has one room left.
David and Emma were excellent hosts and couldn't have been more helpful. By far the most friendly and approachable B&B owners I have experienced.
The location is excellent, nice quiet country lane but ideal for getting to all the islands attractions.
Room was clean, comfortable bed and the decor and grounds were stunning. Breakfast was top draw and had a great selection (I went for the full English as per usual)
There's a great pub just a 5 minute walk up the road, beautiful food and MASSIVE portions.

Will most definitely return on my next visit to the Isle of Wight

My partner and I have just returned from the IOW and stayed at this lovely, welcoming, friendly and relaxing B&B. David and Emma are the perfect hosts and couldn't have been more helpful. Beautiful and very comfy rooms with everything you require. They have a wonderful choice of breakfasts, which would cater for everyone. The dining/lounge area and garden patio are decorated and furnished beautifully and I can't wait to return and hire a bike to cycle along the cycle path which starts literally next door. We have stayed at a few B&B's and this is BY FAR the best. Thank you for a lovely stay.

I can't recommend this B&B more highly. I found it in a women's cycling magazine - it was one of the top 5 B&Bs for cyclists in the UK and the recommendation was spot on. I stayed for 4 nights on a cycling holiday and found the location to be perfect - it runs right alongside the number 23 cycle route. It's 2 miles to Sandown and about 6 to Newport from where you can go north to Cowes or west to Carisbrooke and then right over to Freshwater and the Needles. The B&B's located in a little village called Langbridge. It is safe and quiet and the cycle route and lanes around are buzzing with wildlife. If you want to see red squirrels head one mile down the cycle path to Alverstone and find the entrance to Alverstone Mead Nature Reserve just past the bridge - it's a beautiful spot. There is a hide beside the marshes but the red squirrels are in the trees all around.

The B&B itself is fantastic. David and his family are very friendly and cook amazing breakfasts. I had the room at the front and it was perfectly clean and very comfortable. David has exciting plans for a cyclists café, workshop and information point which is opening later this year. I can't wait to return!

This B & B sets a standard which all others should be attaining. Set in a quite inland village with a great pub a short walk away. We had large room, very comfortable beds and an excellent en suite. The extensive breakfast menu using fresh local ingredients was cooked to order. The oak smoked(own smoker) Aga baked ham with a poached egg was cooked to perfection by David. Breakfast kept us satisfied while we toured the island until our early evening dinner with friends. Free wi-fi was a bonus. We are looking forward to visiting this little gem again. Thank you David & Emma.
