“What a lovely, relaxing holiday”
Reviewed 14 December 2012

My boyfriend and I stayed there for a week in July 2012. We had a wonderful time at the cottage, which was the perfect size for just two people. We loved being right next to the Garlic Farm Shop and managed to spend quite a bit in there buying gifts for ourselves and family back home! There are some excellent pubs and restuarants nearby. The cottage was clean and tidy and we loved oru welcome goodies in the fridge and on the table, such a help and the produce from the Garlic Farm was so tasty! (In fact, we bought some to take home with us!!) The grounds were lovely and the animals that freely roam were a lovely touch, really adding to that 'farm' feel.

We stayed at Little Mersley Farm House in april/may this year.
It was one of the best holidays we have ever had on the Isle of Wight.
The farm house is really good for a large or small family. There was only three of us and we really enjoyed the log fire and warm rooms.

We stayed in Little Mersley Farmhouse in May 2012. The cottage was full of character and very well kept. The owners very very friendly and helpful but not at all instrusive. It was also very handy to have the facilities of the farm shop close by. The produce from the garlic farm was excellent.
The cafe/restaurant was very pleasant and the standard of food was generally good. The pastrami burger was one of the best burgers I have tasted for a long time.

We stayed in 'Mill Cottage' at the end of October and had a great time. It's fairly centrally located on the island and surrounded by some stunning views. When we walked in we definitely got the 'wow' factor - Mill Cottage is not particularly imposing from the outside but once you walk in it is large with a split level kitchen and living room with clean, spacious, yet homely feel. It has good WiFi, plus Freeview and DVD player (but no DVDs).

A quick explore leads to 3 bedrooms - a twin and two doubles, all with modern, clean en-suite, including Power Shower.

The bed was very comfortable, and the kitchen was well equipped - including a dishwasher.

The owners/staff were all friendly and helpful. And it is located next to the Garlic Farm which has its own cafe and garlic-based farm shop - stocking just about everything you can think of - but with a garlic twist (garlic beer, garlic cheese, garlic chutney, garlic fudge, and ummm garlic garlic)

If I was forced to find anything negative it would be that it could do with more instructions about how to get hot water quickly and/or instructions about when the boiler comes on etc as we ran out of hot water on one occasion (bear in mind this house sleeps 6 so hot water is going to be heavily used).

Finally it has a large meadow next door for the kids to run around in, plus a tennis court! Which was in fact one of the main reasons we chose to stay here!

4.5/5.0 and recommended!!

Stayed there for a weekend in October 2013 and from start to finish, everything was perfect: from the two pints of milk in the fridge and various other welcoming goodies, the log basket full of logs to the 5 lovely bedrooms. The Farmhouse was well located with an excellent pub (The Pointer Inn) nearby, and the Garlic Farm shop and cafe selling, well, everything garlic. Nothing else to say really, except I would recommend it unreservedly - we were a group of friends having a weekend break, but I am certain it would make an equally lovely venue for a larger family for a week's break. We certainly didn't want to leave.

We took our grandchildren to Mersley Garlic Farm in February half term. This was a first class place . Welcoming warm and relaxing. The children loved the animals chickens, peacocks, red squirrels. The large green to play on and trees to climb. There was a tennis court and gorgeous farm walk with Alpacas and horses, and long horned cattle. The Garlic growing was there to see first hand. We had a wonderful week and booked at the last minute a little anxious how it would be. We needn't have worried Jenny the manager was friendly and a first class host. The shop close by was also a boon, we had porridge on the last morning that kept us going until we arrived home. It really is a good experience simple and wonderful. Corinne

Room Tip: The mill house had three bedrooms and three bathrooms great with children. Opened on to the green fo...

We booked a last minute stay in Kiln Cottage and were really impressed by the standard of the accommodation and the facilities at Mersley Farm. The Cottage was well appointed with two lovely bedrooms and several bathrooms, great views and a few games/DVD's to keep the children entertained. The 'welcome' pack was well received and enticed us into the shop, as a result we lived almost soley on the fantastic garlic bread all week! In addition Jenny and her team were very helpful and understanding, especially when we had a sick child (Extra special thanks to Sandra!). The Farm is in a brilliant location within easy reach of beaches and other attractions, but also in rolling countryside suitable for walking. Really would recommend a stay at the Farm and dinner at The Pointer Inn in Newchurch.
