“Wonderful peaceful hideaway”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 5 May 2014

We had a long week end in Barn Cottage on the farm, it's was very nice, clean, well equipped with everything including dish washer. The cottage had a wonderful garden in the sun over looking the peacocks who entertained us daily. The countryside surround the cottages is lovely. Thank you for a lovely stay and we will be returning.

We ( family of 5 plus a dog) have just got back from a 4 night stay at Mill Cottage and wish we had booked to stay longer. The cottage was beautiful and set in lovely surrounding countryside. It had everything we could have needed. The tennis court, football field and farm walks provided us with lots of fun and entertainment, as did the peacocks at the kitchen window. I would definitely recommend a stay here as it is the perfect base for a family holiday . We loved it !

We found this wonderful place 11 years ago, when we had young children. We have returned most years and cannot fault. The welcome on arrival and helpful staff is a rare thing these days. The cottages are beautifully kept and continually improved. The developments with the added tea shop, restaurant and ever increasing range of wonderful food and gifts in the shop, make this an ideal holiday location. Beautiful walks on your doorstep and stunning scenery.Just returned from a week's relaxation, with our dogs and would recommend to couples and families alike. Go visit!

Just back from a fantastic weekend break spent at Kiln Cottage. The cottage was roomy, comfortable, very well equipped, picturesque and in a fantastic location. We really couldn't fault it and I hope we will visit again before the end of the year! We strongly recommend a visit to the garlic farm next door!

5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 24 February 2014

My wife and I stayed here at the beginning of February, and were very impressed. We only stayed in the small Paddock Cottage, but even that was big enough for the two of us. The bedroom was spacious enough for us, our bags, and all the bags of shopping we managed to get while staying on the island. The kitchenette/lounge had a high ceiling, so in the cold weather it's definitely advisable to have the heating on.
Lovely surroundings, and the chance to walk round The Garlic Farm (weather permitting). There are many lovely places to visit in the local vicinity. Keep an eye out for the peacocks on the grounds as well, we spotted two peacocks and three peahens while staying.
I would definitely recommend staying here as it was a lovely place to stay, and we're already planning on returning, although it may have to be in a warmer month. If you like going on outings to places definitely check when things are open, as many attractions on the Isle of Wight close for the winter, but there was still plenty to keep us occupied.

We stayed in this farm in may half term and we cannot speak highly enough about it. The cottage was clean, well equipped and very homely. We loved our little garden, perfect for our dog and for keeping kids in. Lots of access to open space for the children and it felt very safe. We would have loved more access to the animals but that said we loved the cattle and the peacocks especially!!

Lots of dog walks and the farm shop and restaurant is well serviced. Such friendly people! We will be back x

Room Tip: Our cottage has disabled access but all cottages are well placed

Have just stayed at Barn Cottage at the end of a cold but sunny April, farm, cottage & scenery were lovely but there was no way to control the heating & it veered from very chilly in the mornings, to often very hot in the evenings. This would be less fun if you had children who wake early.

Hi Liz b,

Thank you for taking the time to write a review of your stay at the farm. There was an issue with the settings being tampered with in another cottage where the boiler that runs Barn Cottage is located. We are in the process of fitting separate control units for each cottage. Just one of the issues that comes with using converted buildings that were not purpose built.

I am really sorry that this, understandably effected the quality of your stay.

We do hope you may visit again sometime and that we will be able to provide a warmer experience! Do remember we offer discounts to our returning guests and do not hesitate to get in touch any time.

All the best,

Hugo
