“A true home from home experience.”
Reviewed 25 September 2013 for a stay in September 2013

We were made to feel especially welcome by all the family. Every superlative mentioned by others does not do adequate justice to the hospitality shown by Ali, David and James, nor the variety, quality and quantity of not just the welcome pack, but the on-going supply of cakes, fruits and drinks bestowed on us during our stay.

Everything is thought of and on a cooler evening David Ali came round to ask if we would like to light the wood burner and kindly gave us a quick lesson in dealing with its vagaries. Had we wanted to just sit, there was an abundance of books to read and DVDs to watch, something we have never come across before in a rental property. The abundance of materials for attractions throughout the whole island and the laminated copy of the OS map were all much appreciated and used. We were grateful to use the bikes that David and James provided and prepared for us so that we could explore the fantastic network of beautiful, easy cycle tracks that radiate from nearby the property.

The cottage provided a central, cosy, wonderful and comfortable base for walking the coast and downs, sightseeing and cycling. Apart from the obvious attractions of Osborne and Carisbrooke, other places well worth visiting are Dimbola; Compton Bay and dinosaur tracks; Ventnor Botanic Gardens; Mottistone; walks at Tennyson Downs; the West Yar estuary; Newtown marshes; Wooton Creek, Quarr and Fishbourne.

“Great holiday cottage for families with young children!”
Reviewed 18 June 2013 for a stay in May 2013

We stayed at The Brew House during May half-term and were so pleased with our choice of accommodation. It proved to be one of the most relaxing holidays we have had so far with our children (age 3 and 4) and much of this was down to the home from home atmosphere at The Brew House. There were plenty of toys and DVDs to keep the children amused when the weather turned damp, and it was ideally located to visit the rest of the island. Ten minutes away is Robin Hill country park, which we visited 3 times...a great place to go with children. We also went to Compton Bay, the model village at Godshill, the Dinosaur museum and the Garlic Farm which is close by.

Everything you could possibly need was provided for at The Brew House; plenty of towels, kitchen equipment, buckets and spades etc. When we arrived there was even a welcome hamper with a delicious homemade chocolate cake! The Brew House is a beautiful, comfortable cottage in a perfect location ideal for families and couples. We would definitely recommend it to friends and even return one day!
