“Easter break in Sway”
Reviewed 3 May 2014

We stayed at Rushcroft Farm for 5 nights over Easter 2014.
The camp-site was quite busy as it was the Easter holidays.
A five minute walk gets you into the village, we ate at the Silver Hind on our first night- good food but pretty expensive.
Very good shop in the village that sells just about everything including a very good selection of vegetables and fruit.
Unfortunately the dog walk belonging to the site was very wet so couldn't use it which was a shame as walking around the village wasn't very much exercise for our very energetic Springer-doodle Martha.
The toilet and shower blocks really need to be updated, the showers cost 20p for three minutes which is fine but it took me quite a while to get the right temperature and on my first visit I had to leave the shower with shampoo still in my hair!
Please please put some sanitary bins in the toilets........
Overall a good stay but needs a makeover

We stayed in one of the cottages. When we looked on the website we thought it would be just a normal cottage but on arrival I was commended for another smart choice of cottage. The cottage was renovated about 18 months ago and everything is great quality. The hosts were great when we had a couple of issues and also supplied some lovely fresh eggs. The surrounding area is amazing for walks and some great local pubs. Well worth the money and would highly recommend.

Arrived on Saturday 14th July at 7pm and pitched our tent and was shortly approached by the site warden who was extremley helpful. He gave us useful information about the site/farm and where to go during our stay.
The facilities include -toilets, showers at 20p for 3 minutes, toilet chemical point, washing up facilites, fridge, fire extinguisher.... Farm shop which sells Eggs, Sausages etc...
We found the toilets/showers a little dirty in busy times (weekends), but during the week they were spotless... We felt totally safe leaving valuables in the tent while we went off for the day.

Our only down side was a train does pass right next to the camping fields very late at night and very early -but you do get used to it. and on the first night there was a very loud group in the tent field that were shouting and driving backwards and forwards to the toilets...They could be heard from the opposite of the campsite.... Not the campsites fault just inconsiderate campers...which you can get anywhere!

Overall the best so far... Location is great - beaches apx 6-7 miles away, New forest a short walk up the road...
Avoid eating in the local pub..... VERY expensive..

We stayed for 4 nights and wished we have booked for longer!
We have been camping for 10 years in tents and have gone to so many campsite including campsites in the New Forest and this one is one we will be returning too...

Spent a pleasant weekend at this site recently in out VW campervan. As it was last minute decision we were uinable to get an electric hook up, but that was fine. Arrived to find, as advised, a notice indicating our pitch. This is a small site on a working farm with horses in the adjoining fields. All pitches clearly marked, the upper field had hard standing and electric hook ups, we were in a lower field. The grass was immaculate and recently cut. There are limited toilet/shower facilities, but plenty of hot water. Great location as within walking distance of Sway village, with Silver Hind pub, and also the station with trains to Lymington, Bournmouth and Brockenhurst (we didn't use them but could be very useful on a longer stay). Excellent cycling around - we cycled to Bucklers Hard and back via Lymington - all on very quiet country lanes through varied New Forest scenery. Good value at £15 per night w/out electric for campervan and 2 adults. Average rating given only due to limited toilet and shower facilities.
