Just had a 3 night stay at The Poplar Inn in Banff and would recommend this friendly B and B which is situated close to Banff town centre but far enough away to be quiet at night. Susan's breakfasts were delicious and varied - all home made! Bed was very comfy and spotlessly clean. Highly recommend.

Just returned from a wonderful trip to Banff which included our stay with Susan at the Poplar Inn. It is a lovely place, perfect location, clean & cozy room, tasty breakfasts and extremely friendly hostess! Susan was so helpful in sharing information about the area which help us plan our adventures for our time there. Enjoyed the common area, and loved being able to walk just a couple of blocks to the downtown hub. Very quiet and comfortable for a great nights sleep after seeing the incredible sights in and around Banff. We were not ready to leave, deciding that we did not give ourselves enough time and look forward to another trip in the future. We would highly recommend the Poplar Inn if you are planning a stay in Banff!!

Had a wonderful time in Banff and the Poplar Inn was a great place to stay. Susan was a wonderful hostess and made us feel at home. She had wonderful stories of her many trips around the world and shared many interesting recollections of her husband and family from past years. The breakfasts were terrific. My wife had the misfortune of breaking her ankle during a hike on an icy trail and required surgery. Susan did everything she could to help us through the ordeal and I will always appreciate her hospitality.

Room Tip: Both rooms are similar. You can't go wrong.

WE are so glad that we discovered The Poplar Inn to stay at while in Banff. IT is a lovely place and Susan , the owner, was extremely friendly and helpful. The room was spacious and comfy and immaculately clean. WE enjoyed our 4 nights there immensely. The breakfasts were varied and tasty. Susan is a life long Banff resident and it was so interesting to learn so much of the history of the area from her . She made sure we saw all the interesting places and experienced as much of Banff and the area as we could in the time we had there.

The next time we are able to go on a vacation to in Alberta and it’s beautiful mountains we look forward to being able to stay at the Poplar Inn again .

The Poplar Inn was a perfect bed and breakfast. Susan is a gracious, friendly and accommodating hostess, who shared much information about the area with us. We thoroughly enjoyed our breakfast chats with her. The two guest rooms and private baths for each are perfectly decorated and most comfortable. The common living room/kitchen area is fantastic for two couples traveling together. The property is modern and spotlessly clean. The breakfasts were hearty and delicious, the location within easy walking distance to downtown Banff. We loved the quiet location and the availability of on-street parking.

Room Tip: The rooms are identical, although the room closest to the owner's living quarters is a bit warme...

We stayed at the Poplar Inn B&B this March when we were in town to visit a friend. Having everything at ground level was a great relief over the often experienced narrow stairwell luggage trial. The king bed was quite firm which was right up my alley. We slept great and loved the convenience of our own ensuite washroom. The common area which doubles as the breakfast nook was very cozy and allowed us to maintain our privacy when our friend popped by to meet us. Our host Susan was welcoming and we felt comfortable around her right away. She made a simple breakfast for us which was exactly what we wanted that morning. I understand from her guest comment book that a variety of breakfast choices may be available with discussion ahead of time, but in our case she wase either intuitive or lucky. We definitely enjoyed our weekend at the Poplar inn.

Room Tip: There are two rooms which seem more or less identical so don't sweat the choice.

Very comfortable lodging! Susan is a gracious and helpful hostess. She was always available to answer our questions and to tell us about the area. The rooms are well designed with very comfortable beds and good water pressure in the shower. Susan's breakfasts were delicious and varied. It has the perfect set up for two couples. The common room was areal bonus that we especially enjoyed. The location is great for walking to restaurants, shopping, and activities.

Room Tip: Only two rooms with the same set up in both so you can't go wrong.
