The location is great..half a block from the main drag. Lauren was very friendly and helpful and we loved the cookies in the afternoon, the homemade buns in the morning and home-made granola provided. The Beaver cottage was cozy and comfortable and we loved having a kitchenette. It was nice to have parking right outside our door since we always carry too much stuff to haul in and out. Considering how expensive Banff is, this is a good value. Highly recommended!

Banff Beaver Cabins are just a block off Banff Ave, and everything was in easy walking distance. It was nice to have a place to park our car and then just walk around beautiful Banff. I appreciate the history behind the cabins as one of the earliest tourist accommodations in the area. We made our reservations just 3 months in advance, so the only cabin left was the Gopher. This was the basement apartment of one of the buildings. It was very clean and comfortable, but I would have preferred one of the upstairs lodgings. WIFI down there was very touch and go, and I had to sit outside (with the hungry mosquitos) if I wanted to use my phone. The beds were a double and single, so the Gopher would work best for people who didn't want to share the same bed. Laura, our host, was very helpful, and seemed to be always available. We would most definitely stay at Banff Beaver Cabins again, but I would prefer to be in another unit.

This was great value for money for Banff. The owner was very welcoming, and provided some nice touches such as freshly cooked buns and cookies, home made granola and a fruit bowl. It had a separate kitchen with fridge and microwave, a comfortable bed, TV and wifi. And there were BBQs available for the guests and plenty of outside seating. The location was great for access to "downtown" Banff.
We were in the Gopher cabin, essentially the basement of another cabin. It was great in that it was cool (Banff was very warm at the time) but had the disadvantage in that there was a loud noise every time the toilet was flushed upstairs. We really enjoyed this property and would probably have rated it 5 balls if we had been in another cabin.

Room Tip: Would not recommend the Gopher if you sleep lightly.

Thanks Lloyd

We have stayed three nights in the fox cabin which was smaal but just big enough for our family of 5 .
Welcoming by laura was warm and adequate.
Breakfast is limited but we appreciated the fresh homemade bread ( best we had in canada for over 3 weeks) the jams and the fruit every morning and the juice in the afternoon.
Location is perfect next to the main street of banff but quiet and far away of the crowds.
Barbecue available .
Comparing prices in banff affordable accomodation .
Banff national park is stunning.
Would recommand the cabins without hesitation

We stayed in the Gopher Suite, which has two beds in the same room, kitchen with everything you need, and table with three chairs. There’s even a fan and a heater. We were welcomed by Laura and shown our cabin. Each cabin has milk and cream in the frig as well as homemade granola. The breakfast is served starting at 7:30am in the patio area. Laura had freshly made hot homemade bread, rolls, jams, and lots of different fruit. The hot rolls were to die for!

Homemade chocolate chip cookies and drinks are served everyday around 4pm until they’re gone. Don’t worry – there’s plenty! We used one of the two available gas BBQs. BBQ utensils, marinades, catsup, mustard and relish were all supplied. There’s a gazebo and two regular size picnic tables. We had our own little patio table outside our cabin too! I was sitting at the table when a deer starting walking onto the property. Then another deer joined him. They went behind our cabin and around to the front yard. They started eating the plants and flowers and when they had their fill, they laid down right by the gazebo! These were 10 and 11 point bucks! See photos!

Laura and Lloyd are really friendly and helpful and made our trip special with all their little extras. It's only one block from Banff Avenue, yet very quiet! We loved having our own little suite. We felt right at home.

We recently stayed in Banff Beaver Cabins and we both felt that the cabins were overrated. I chose the cabins months befoe our trip (mostly because of the raving recommendations on Trip Advisor), yet when we got there we were given a basement apartment (Gopher). There may have been a misunderstanding, but I don't remember reserving one. The apartment itself is quite nice, though everything is just too small, especially the toilet-shower (which also has a noisy vent). The sink is in the room itself and the double bed is against the wall, so one person has to climb over. The kitchen was very nicely furbished. Breakfast is a somewhat strange arrangement, whereby you drink your coffee in the room, yet the other breakfast items are outside. Not very convenient, especially when it rains.
This being said, the location is excellent, the place is very very clean and well maintained and the hosts are very outgoing and friendly. Home made buns in the morning and cookies and juice in the afternoon were also nice. The complex is quite old - charming in its own way, except for the comments made above.
I did not look at any of the other cabins - chances are they may be bigger and perhaps nicer.
For us this was a bit of a disappointment, but I would still recommend it for the location and cleanliness.

We stayed two nights in the Elk Cabin and we only wished we stayed longer. We were hesitant about staying right in the town of Banff, but besides a bit of traffic noise, the cottages were great. Laura has done a wonderful job at making the cottages, clean and cosy. She is a wonderful host always willing to help and to the supply the little extras that make your stay perfect.
We would definitely use these accommodations again.
