Our meal began with a champagne cart wheeled to our table, and followed with a wonderful menu of Canadian specialties and wines. Great service also!

The hotel is pretty, old school certainly and the help is wonderful. The views are amazing. If you go for a day visit, the parking is $20 so be prepared for that and the high prices of the food. The English tea was great, We had a special menu developed in honor of Harry and Meghan Markles wedding designed by the former chef of the Queen, filled with the Royal Family's favorite tea sandwiches and desserts.

As the very first Fairmont this hotel is a treasure and historically significant. The architecture, size and grandeur are all stunning. The setting is the perfect match to the huge facility. Expansive views in all directions. It towers above Banff and has superb views of the Bow River and valleys. We like that all Fairmont Hotels we have been in are also very friendly towards tourists not necessarily guests. Some interesting Retail stores in the hotel but nothing can compare to the experience of staying in the hotel. Quiet elegance and outstanding staff.

My family of 4 (husband, and two children under 6 years of age), frequent the Banff Springs on average once a month. We visited the Rundle Lounge this past weekend after our swim in the pools and were quite disappointed when we were told by the wait staff that they no longer had a children's menu (but that the Vermillion Room does but it did not open until 5 pm). We were there at 4:30 pm. They could only offer the kids chicken wings and they were $20 a plate and they received 5 wings on their plate. The feeling was that children are no longer welcome in that area of the Banff Springs. As mentioned, we have bought a 3 month aquatics pass the past two years and we stay on the Gold floor when we are there. But with the prices increasing overall in the hotel (rooms and the menu) and taking the kids menu off of the Rundle Lounge menu, we are seriously considering whether or not we spend our money there every month. We also have 5 nights booked at the Fairmont Whistler in the middle of June (just my husband and myself) and we are seriously considering taking our services elsewhere. What has happened to the Banff Springs? It appears they are catering to a much different crowd.
