“Amazing ambiance, leaky toilet...”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 15 July 2012

When we walked into the room we were pleasantly surprised. Rustic wood, fireplace, claw footed bath tub, shower, balcony with an ok view. This was going to be great!

The only problems we encumbered were a toilet that splashed water from the tank onto the floorevery time you flush, and a bathroom sink that doesn't hold water when the drain is closed.

Overall it was a great experience, but for the price we paid - the bathroom was almost enough to complain about (but we're Canadian, so we let it slide).

Would definitely recommend.

We stayed in Buffalo Mountain Lodge for 6 nights as part of a 3 and a half week trip to Canada and to get married in Banff. Initially we had booked a queen room through our travel agent. When we got to the hotel we were a little dissappointed with the room although the room wasn't bad it just didn't meet our expectations and because it was such a special trip for us, getting married and all!! We went to reception, and we spoke to a most lovely member of staff called Erin she was Australian- and we explained that we had come all the way from the UK to get married etc and were there any other rooms available. Erin got us a premier room and we spent 6 wonderful nights there and got married at Two Jack lake. Also we ate twice in the sleeping Buffalo and the food was excellent - and thank you buffalo mountain lodge and Jessie the waitress who gave us two complimentary glasses of champagne when she realised we had just got married!! Lovely touch. Thank you Buffalo mountain lodge you have given us the most wonderful memories. Hopefully see you in a couple of years to celebrate our anniversary. Kelly and Sam

This was our last hotel on the biking trip. The rooms were nice but carpets showed some wear. There was much more spacious room here than at Moraine Lake or Cathedral Mountain which was appreciated. Rooms at the top of the mountain appear to be quieter and also close to some spectacular views. Excellent staff and the food at the restaurant was the best of the lodges we visited.

Room Tip: Choose a room on the back side of the complex. They are quieter and close to great views and the wi...

We found this resort through a Living Social Deal and upgraded to a superior room for $50 extra per night because we wanted a king-sized bed. Our room was huge and so was the bathroom. The bedroom had wood-burning fireplace which was restocked daily. The bath had a shower and a claw-footed bathtub with a heated tile floor - it was huge. It was also stocked with every possible amenity. The room was extremely quiet even though there were weddings on 2 of the nights while we stayed there. I was so glad to see that this property was not downtown but just a few minutes out of the downtown area. Downtown Banff is extremely crowded and touristy. The only negative about our room is that is was very dark - definitely could use some overhead lightng. The bedroom and bath were unusually dark even in the middle of the day. We had an extremely relaxing visit to one of the most beautiful places on earth

Very disappointed. They stuck us in a room that smelt like it had been on fire. I think the fireplace was used and the damper left closed. We were coughing within an hour. The bed was a queen fold-down from the wall. Miserable mattress barely off the floor. Window would not fully lock. Wedding party went on with loud drunks until 2am. Nothing against having a wedding, just drunks that were present at 7pm and still going at 2am. They tried to charge us over $300 for the room with a fold down bed. Really! The breakfast was terrible with dry grainy scrambled eggs. Nothing at breakfast was worth eating, especially for $20. Danish’s were dry and old.

Room Tip: Stay somewhere else.

Stunning views of the rocky mountians, supplies (and instructions) for a wood fire and a claw foot tub were the highlights of this hotel. The hotel was also organized enough to handle a large group of people checking in and out at the same time for a function, which is an impressive feat.

We stayed here for 2 nights. This resort is great!

The people working at the reception were extremely polite and accommodating.

Parking is right outside your own room.
The rooms themselves are quite spacious, have a wood burning fireplace, flat screen tv, hairdryer, shampoo and all that.

This hotel is pet friendly.

I think this place would be amazing for a winter ski trip. They do have a ski storage area.

There is a huge hot tub on site. the jets are a little week, but it was good enough. The gym is small but has the essentials.

It is about 20-25 min walk to downtown and all the good restaurants.

The breakfast buffet was quite good, however, it was 20 bucks per person, and I definitely did not eat my 20 bucks worth. But the food was very good.

The beds were comfy, however, the pillow topper on ours kept sliding off during the night.

I loved staying here, away from the noise of downtown. It was very peaceful in the mornings and cozy at night.

We will DEFINITELY come back.
