We were hugely disappointed with the standard of this resort.
The staff were okay but not very interested in sorting the issue of the small cramped apartment.
The apartment is meant to sleep 4 people but the table was only big enough for 2-3 people.
The living area/ kitchen were cramped, the sofa had seen better days. The general decor was in need of freshening up. The mat by the door was grubby. There was cigarette ash and stubs just outside the door and huge cracks on the path.
The bedroom was so tiny that my husband and I kept bumping into each other. There was a foot between the wall and the bed on all sides. The wardrobe door bashed into the bed when you opened it.
The facilities were poor. The wood frame around the door was rotten.
The facilities and equipment was inadequate and old fashioned.
There was no heating except buying firewood for $7 and the air circulation and natural lighting was inadequate.
The swimming pool and hot tub needed renovating. The lockers were rusty and I didn't feel like putting my stuff in them.
I think this is the worst time share resort I have ever stayed in.
The staff were unsympathetic that the apartment was too small for 4 people and offered us toa larger apartment at an extra cost.
Overall a horrible experience to stay here for a whole week.

Room Tip: Unless you get a refurbished room don't bother staying here.

I just returned from 3 days conference at Banff Rocky Mountain Resort. I had only 5 items from the buffet style lunch selection: soup, ham, quinoa salad, cookie and apple juice. Two hours later I experienced violent diarrhea which is well persisting even 20 hours later. There is no other explanation than one or several items on the menu were contaminated.....SO, BEWARE WHAT YOU EAT AT THIS PLACE..... and you can rather enjoy the area then sitting in pain on the toilet seat. I am very careful with my meals and did not eat anything else except what was supplied at the resort.

We have been there every year for the past four years at least once a year and quite enjoy the quiet surroundings and condo was just right. The staff are very friendly and helpful and there is so much to do there. If it is cold outside there is the fireplace to keep you extra warm and cozy and than there are all kinds of games inside to take back to your condo to play. In the summer there is tennis, bikes to rent, swimming pool & hot tub and the shuttle that will take you down town every hour on the hour and pick you up. The beds are delightful and a TV in the bedrooms.
There are few hangers but you can ask at the desk for more if you wish and they have no problem bringing them out to you. There are two bathrooms and the kitchen is just the right size for what you need it for. The couch was a little hard but who has time to be sitting on it anyway with so much to do in Banff and surrounding areas. It was wonderful to see lots of animals between Jasper and Banff as long as you keep your distance. Than there is the Banff Springs Hotel to stop in for a hot cup of coffee on a cold day. I highly recommend Rocky Mountain Resort for a place to stay in Banff area.

Room Tip: Ask for the Wolf Condos it is the most quiet. It is also good to use a time share like Daelive.

The resort is quite a way out of town however a free shuttle bus every hour means that you don't have to drive in and if you eat in Banff you can also have a drink. The refurbished Wolf studio rooms are nicely decorated and well appointed although quite moderate in size. Our room was noisy however after 4pm as it adjoined the heating machinery which came on at that time. So much so that we upgraded (at a discount) to a loft room.
This was larger, lighter, better equipped (this TV had a HDMI input for example) and provided a good night's sleep.
The staff are welcoming and helpful and the resort has a hot-tub and gym.

Room Tip: Ask if it's next to the boiler

We stayed here 18 months ago. Great base for travellers wanting to see the sights. This time thought it was looking a little tired and unloved. Fitness room needs up dating and equipment could do with repairs although the staff there were first class. No restaurant now only pepper,s which seemed popular. Reception staff very jolly welcoming , and keen although they could do with a bit of training as to when fitness room etc was open..
Enjoyed the visit despite these niggles thank you

For a clean relatively inexpensive place to lay your head this fits the bill. No drawers , king bed ,which occupies the whole bedroom
Small but adequate living room and kitchen. Beautiful mountain settings and 5 minutes to downtown Banff.nice flat screen tv in living room

Our family stays at this resort a few times each year and continues to based on a very consistent product. We asked for an early check-in and that was accomadated. They gave us an upgrade to the "wolf suite" from the regular one bedroom condo that we had booked. (a nice surprise) We stayed two nights. We used the pool and hot tub several times. We only ate at Peppers once as the food was terrible. I ordered a steak sandwich ($17.00!!) and it was the worst I have ever had OR seen. Sent it back......was taken off the bill right away by the server (who also agreed that it was not quality product) PS I am a Red Seal Chef by trade and know what I am talking about. Lesson learned...will not eat there again....BUT would not make me stop staying there altogether. All in all good value compared to other similar resorts in the banff area.

TIP
PLEASE.....PLEASE REMOVE the couch from the pool area....its been there for at least 2 years and there is no way that thing can take moisture........it looks SO bad.

Room Tip: I would not pay for an upgraded "wolf suite"....not much of an upgrade at the end of the d...
