We stayed here for 3 nights during a family vacation in June. The location was great, within walking distance of all downtown, the room was clean, and the breakfasts were a very pleasant surprise. Advertised as a continental breakfast, it included scrambled eggs, bacon, sausage, cereals, rolls, fruit, cheeses, toast, coffee and juice.
The desk staff was courteous and very helpful with tips for dining and attractions and the parking was free. Would definitely recommend to anyone staying in Banff.

Stayed here for 5 nights in June whilst exploring the location. Were initially given a ground floor room but after a request to move to a higher room this was done. Rooms good size but were very warm and there is no air conditioning, think this would make the rooms uncomfortable in the summer. Buffet breakfast - tasty granola. However very limited selection for a coeliac who requires a gluten free diet - fruit and cheese were the safe foods. Location great as easy to walk into Banff

Thank you for taking the time to review our hotel. I am glad you were happy with your stay. Weather in Banff can be warm but generally cools down quite nicely at night. With our patio doors this allows the fresh mountain air into your room at night.

Partner and I stayed here in May 2014 for a cpl nights while travelling Vancouver across to Calgary.
For some reasons I had very high expectations in this location as was looking very much forward to staying here.
Upon arrival I noticed that the pictures had made this hotel out to look quite a lot more glamourous than it was. However, that being said, it was still a nice hotel.
From memory we were in room 322 and situated at the back of the hotel. While walking to the room I was slightly annoyed at this, but later realised the blessing it was as there was a school crew at the hotel. There was no pool (no problems) and there were two hot tubs. There was a sauna and steam room as well. The steam room seemed broken through our visit, but not notice provided. FREE secure underground parking was a big plus!
While we did have a car, we mostly walked around Banff. Everything was reasonably close and the walk was always nice and refreshing.
I'd recommend this hotel to friends. While there are certainly better hotels out there, the rooms standard rooms here were certainly adequate, clean and comfortable and well priced.

Thank you for taking the time to review our hotel.

We try to keep our guests away from groups to ensure they have a peaceful stay with us.

The saunas are working but it does take about 5 minutes for the steam to activate. Hopefully you can experience the saunas the next time your in town.

I stayed here for two nights in June 2014 with my husband. The hotel as a fantastic location with just a short walk from the restaurants and shops. The free onsite car park is a bonus. Although there was no air con we had a balcony room so slept with the door open - mosquito screens are fitted so no need to worry about them flying in! The room was a peculiar shape (almost triangular) but they make good use of the space. The breakfast was good although like with most buffet breakfasts it wasn't very hot but did set us up for the day. I did find it a bit strange that the juices were not freely available and you had to request a glass of juice from the staff. Certainly the first hotel where I have experienced that. On our second morning there were no staff around (presumably all in the kitchen) so I has to leave without a top up on my orange juice. A minor thing but is so easily resolved by supplying juice dispensers. We didn't try the sauna or spa area but they did look inviting. Overall a good hotel and if we were in the area again I would consider staying here again.

Rooms are connected outdoors.
Very nice modern rooms.
Tastefully decorated.

Continental breakfast was pretty good: scrambled eggs, fruit, bacon, sausage, etc.

Outdoor hottub is beautiful.

Only issue is internet (wifi) is very very slow.

We were greeted at Aspen Lodge to find no restaurant, no bar, no air conditioning, and a television that was outdated at the turn of the century.

That said, the staff were very attentive, particularly when we found ourselves in an emergency situation, the rooms were clean, but hot. The breakfast was varied enough to offer a good start to the day and was very substantial.

Thank you Aspen Lodge for the good things, hopefully the negatives will be worked on.

Hi Joseph,

Thank you for the review.

I am sorry to hear that you expected a restaurant, bar, and air conditioning. Unfortunately we are not a full service hotel and therefore have no restaurant or bar.

However we have the Whitebark Café which offers light fare and Fantastic Coffee.

Stayed here for two nights recently . Such a nice hotel. Spotless large clean comfortable beds, and a nice size bathroom with a good shower.
Breakfast was very nice with plenty of hot and cold choices. The staff were very attentive and cleared dirty dishes promptly. Good location, near the shops and bars. Would certainly recommend.
