We had a great stay here. But on arrival, they put us in a downgraded room, which was a little annoying because I suspect they knew that. But when I called down to the desk, they quickly upgraded us to one of the free standing cabins at no extra charge, so all worked out. The unit was great. It had a downstairs bedroom separate from a living space with a fireplace, and an upstairs loft with two beds.

So all in all, we were very pleased with our stay.

Room tip: I recommend paying extra for one of the free standing cabins.

We rented the Superior Suite with mountain view from the balcony. The room was clean and renovated with new appliances. However the cooktop wasn't well design. Although it had two cooking elements, the cooking area was small and was too close to each other. We couldn't use put two pots at the same time. This made cooking rather inconvenient. We enjoyed the view of the Mount Rundle from the balcony. However it was a bit cold even in July (single digit in the morning) so we didn't stay outside for too long. The Tunnel Mountain hiking trail was nearby and downtown was only 20 mins walk away. The bus stop was right in front of the hotel. Bus ride was free with hotel pass. Do ask for one when checking in. The swimming was small., sauna and steam rooms were in another building.

We were pleasantly surprised at the updated, very comfortable and very clean rooms. The name doesn’t do the place justice. The friendly front desk staff called us when our room was ready because we tried to check in early. They were very accommodating and helped get us in our room before the official check in time. The small kitchenette was perfect for our stay. Thick white Towels and warm coffee were plentiful (two of my important criteria!). The fitness center sufficed for our minimal needs. Laundry room was small (only two washers and two dryers) but got the job done. Excellent bathrooms! The landscaping was impeccable despite the deer and elk that often came for a meal. The complimentary bus tickets were extremely helpful in a town were parking is hard to come by and it only took 10-15 minutes to get to where you needed to go. We even walked the short distance to Banff Ave several times because it’s that close. Some may prefer to stay right in town but we preferred this location away from the hub bub and with an awesome view. The Buffalo Mountain Cafe at the hotel across the street is great for breakfast.

We were very happy with the comfort, service and friendliness. We had a loft apartment and the furnishings are modern and fresh. Special shout out to Maria, Mandy and Lilly on the Front Desk. Their advice and help made our trip memorable. We saw these deer outside of reception. Bus into town took the headache out of parking.
