Two-night stay was quiet, clean and relaxing. All room facilities worked, and the beds were comfortable. Located close to the center of the city. The second floor dining room was very nice for breakfast. The breakfast buffet was fine. There was a minimal charge for medium-speed Internet. I would recommend this hotel.

The Banff Park Lodge hosted one of our most successful annual conferences this spring. The staff were helpful and accommodating to our ever changing needs. The conference rooms were spacious, beautiful and well equipped. The food was excellent and service staff were courteous. Hotel rooms were big, comfortable and well priced. The hotel is location is optimal- located just blocks from "downtown" which made it accessible to all of shopping and site seeing Banff has to offer. All in all the weekend went seamlessly, all thanks to the great venue and amazing staff at the Banff Park Lodge.

We stayed here for 1 night and had not booked in advance. The room was a good size, clean and had good facilities. (Please note though, in common with all hotels that I have stayed at in Canada, unlike European hotels, there is no shower gel and less towels in the rooms.)
Reception staff could do with a little more customer service training but the rest of the staff were friendly and helpful.
We were on a room only basis and didn't eat at the hotel so not sure about the food. we had a delicious breakfast at Melissa's (which is across the road from the hotel) at a fraction of the cost of the hotel breakfast.

I stayed at the Banff Park Lodge from 19th June - 23rd June and would like to say how impressed I was with the staff through the difficult time they have just had with the flooding. I was due to check out 21st but was stranded along with many other guests and although I was asked to vacate my room until the staff had a better idea of the room situation I think they handled it wonderfully. All staff were very polite throughout a very stressful time and I witnessed the front desk having to deal with a lot of very worried people in a very patient and professional manner. I was here with two of my colleagues and we all agree we will stay again when next in Banff. The food in both restaurants is very good and the staff that served us especially in The Terrace were all great. Our room was always clean and well stocked and although the hotel rooms could do with a good revamp I very much enjoyed my stay.

Stayed here for one night with family while visiting Banff. We were lucky enough to get a room here at the last minute as everywhere was booked out for a film festival in town. The hotel was nice - very big and with lots of facilities. The room was large with a nice balcony and all the facilities we needed. The only downsides were that the staff weren't very helpful, I found it a bit overpriced and they also charged a lot for any extras i.e. breakfast / wi-fi. I would probably stay somewhere else next time because I found it a bit soulless overall.

I stayed as a guest for a conference 14th-21st June
Hotel ok, dated, but suitable as a conference venue because of number of rooms and banqueting facilities.

During the extreme flooding of 21st June I had to check out and despite the town being completely cut off I was told to vacate my room and wait in the lobby and keep enquiring for a potential cancellation which would enable me to acquire a room. This was both comedic and farcial for a number of reasons:

1) no one was leaving or entering Banff, thus it does not require a rocket scientist to realise that my room would not be required.
2) this rule applied not just to me but 'everyone" , that is, everyone who checked out that day could not automatically get re-booked , we had to wait till the hotel knew for sure our rooms would be required. The lobby was full of worried customers who had to check out. This same procedure was required every day, day after day.
3) while there may be 'business' logic to point 2 it must be remembered that the state had by then declared a national emergency and the Hotel must surely participate with a due care to existing customers who would be made potentially homeless.
4) I and many others from the conference was forced with having to find alternative accommodation in the pouring rain.
5) in rebuttal the BPL would argue that they would eventually offer us accomodation once they knew that their bookings were not to materialise, but what if not?

The decisions were clearly being made by 'higher management'. The desk staff were like automatons, poorly trained and simply uncaring, 'tough luck' summarises their opinion. Under a national or state emergency the Hotel at the very least should have opened its large banquet rooms to provide space and potential lodging for customers who were being kicked out. Yes, there would be a cost and time management requirement from BPL, but by doing this the Hotel would endear itself both to tourists but also locals and is in the spirit of respodning to a national emergency.

Many of my colleagues from the conference felt the same. This is a very uncaring hotel regardless of the excuses they come up with and not in the spirit of many Canadians who rallied under the Calgary flooding emergency.
