We have stayed in other Banff hotels but in recent years have made BPL our first choice. Each time we have enjoyed very comfortable, clean surroundings. On our most recent visit we stayed in a first floor room which opened onto the patio area which gave the room an even more spacious feeling. We have always appreciated the great variety offered in the Sunday Brunch. This time the quality and variety continued to meet our expectations. My new favourite Chinook lunch menu item is the smoked salmon avocado melt ---- a delicious flavour combination.
We have always found the Chinook staff to be friendly and attentive to our needs.
As others have mentioned , the location of BPL is excellent - so close to all kinds of shopping, dining and outdoor experiences. We are looking forward to our next visit later in the year.

Our family of four have stayed at this hotel twice in the past two months. We picked the hotel for the location. We could easily walk to the many shops, amenities and restaurants in the centre of Banff. It is also far enough from the main strip that we didn't hear noise from the town's weekend night-life. The staff at the front door and front desk were friendly and helpful. Our Superior Rooms with two queen beds were clean, large, presentable and in good working order. The mini-fridge and second sink area were handy for our family. The drapes provided a complete blackout so you can rest at any time of day. The pool was fun for our 7 and 9 year old boys to play in and jacuzzi worked for the adults after a day on the slopes. The treadmill in the workout area near the pool worked well for me. There was free parking available close to the hotel and the weather was good, so we did not pay for the heated, underground parking. Note there is also a charge for the wireless Internet. We enjoyed both our stays at this hotel.

I have stayed at BPL on several occasions and have always had a great experience. I was there for a conference last week and just loved being steps from the river pathway and to the restaurants and shops. The catered food for the conference was excellent and their team went above and beyond to accommodate special dietary needs. The heated underground parking was a huge bonus - especially with the snow showing up in May! My room was spotless and every time I passed a staff member they said hello and asked if they could do anything to improve my stay. I will definitely go back!

Room Tip: Because of the hotel configuration some rooms are a bit of a walk from the elevator. If you want to...

I have stayed at BPL a number of times over the past three years, for business and with my family. There is a lot to like about this hotel. First, the location is outstanding. It is an easy walk to the best restaurants and nightlife, yet it is a few steps away from the Bow River. The rooms are nicely furnished, with comfortable beds and awesome televisions! The bathrooms could use some updating, but that is a small concern in the big scheme of things. I have been very impressed by the quality of the food in the restaurants (which also supply the food for the conferences.) The pool area is small, but it is clean. During the winter, the heated underground parking (extra fee!) is definitely nice. This is a very solid choice for anyone who wants to stay in a clean, comfortable, reasonably priced hotel in the heart of Banff.

We recently stayed here for a conference this past weekend. I really can't say enough about the staff. We had amazing service from Steve at the front desk who assisted us in adding an additional night last minute.

We definitely will be back!

I stayed here with a large group of friends in April 2014. I was the organizer for my best friend's bachelorette party weekend. When I initially contacted the hotel to inquire about group rates, they responded right away and gave our group a great price on the rooms (there were 15 of us in 7 rooms).

Check in was quick and easy - front desk staff are extremely friendly. The bellman that helped us in with all our things was great as well. I had goodie bags (survival kits I called them) that I needed to be given to each person in our party. The front desk offered to keep my big bin full of bags behind their desk and hand them out to each of the other guests as they checked in - so helpful!

This hotel is located 2 short blocks west of the main drag, right in the middle. Besides going to the hot springs and a hike, we were able to walk everywhere the whole weekend, very convenient.

As part of a perk for organizing a group, the hotel had graciously upgraded me and the bride to a Lodge Suite. These rooms are amazing! Two queens beds with a pull-out couch, huge living area with lots of tables and chairs, two full bathrooms (one with a bathtub, the other with a stand up shower), large flat screen TV, mini-fridge, microwave and two patios. We ended up having 5 of us in the room and space was definitely not an issue. The only two cons to the room were these:

- water pressure and temperature in the shower were not awesome. The shower has jets coming out of the wall that are more powerful than the actual shower head so all us women had bend over sideways to use the jets for hair washing. Showers also had to be quick because water temperature wasn't so comfortable

- the mattress in the hide-a-bed left lots to be desired. It was very thin and uncomfortable and sunk really badly into the middle.

We did have maintenance come look at it once while we are out for the day at which time they apparently just replaced a spring - it did nothing. We had to call maintenance again and when two of them showed up, we asked them to actually lay on the bed so they could fully understand how bad of shape it was in (they were surprised to feel how bad it really was). They didn't have any new mattresses to replace it with so they instantly went to another unoccupied room and grabbed a second mattress to just put on top which made it way better. More awesome service!

Two of the three vehicles we had between all of us in our room wouldn't fit in the hotel's underground parking (the two vehicles were trucks so they were too high). However, they also offer outdoor parking in either of their two sister hotel lots - one is right behind them and the other is right across the street. To the north of the hotel is also a large public lot that has half RV and half regular-sized parking, good for 12 hours at a time.

We didn't eat at the hotel restaurant or use the pool or hot tub so cannot comment on those.

Check out again was fast and easy. Would definitely stay at this hotel again!
