couldn't have been better, weather might have had a lot to do with that but this is something that much be experienced once (yes it's expensive but still give it a go!). The golf course is amazing as well.

Staying at this iconic property during a meet and ski trip was a pleasure. The service and location is excellent, food and bar are cozy and fun and the location to the town is a perfect walk without being in town

Me and my family were part of a tour that stayed at the hotel, there were about 17 of us so we had 8 rooms. We had reserved rooms in the same class, but as this is a historic property this could mean your room is massive or extremely small. The hotel is beautiful and staff tries to do the best they can, but most employees in the summer are college students or recent college grads working part time. The issue was that my brother and sister-in-law were given a room that needed 2 elevators to get to, was half the size of mine, and nowhere near the rest of the family. On top of that, the 2nd elevator needed was small and made my sister-in-law uncomfortable so she had to take the stairs for the 2nd part of the trip. I realize that the hotel is extremely busy and nothing can be done about this so I switched rooms with my brother and sister-in-law. The surprising part of this was how condescending and completely unhelpful the night manager, Bryce Yagos, was. He couldn't help them change rooms which I understand as the hotel was fairly full, but he didn't offer any alternative solutions or attempt to make their stay easier. He seemed annoyed that I even was asking him to look for other rooms and his attitude was extremely rude. He was in no way helpful, something I find very surprising for a hotel like the Fairmont. Having stayed at a number of other Fairmont properties I was extremely surprised by this event as they normally have some of the best customer care.

We got here after we left lake louise, we had a great two bedroom suite on the gold floor, the service was quite good, the rooms need a little updating but the view is really nice, the bathroom is quite small and cramped, but the worse part was that after having the front desk at lake louise fairmont call about having our two rooms near, and email from my secretary, and request from faimont palliser of the same concern. they still could not get our two rooms near! not on the same side, and not on the same floor. i had actually booked a gold floor JR suite and a two bedroom suite previously, but after being told that the two bedroom suite was not on the gold floor, i cancelled the JR suite, and booked a Deluxe room that acutally cost more, to try and get on the same floor. When i arrived, they put us on the gold floor for the two bedroom suite, and now the more EXPENSIVE room was on another floor! when i told about it, i got the same answer as lake louise fairmont, sorry our rooms are already full! I had expected more out of the fairmont chain! But i guess they just can't the these room reservation thing right! Oh and on one night a wedding party outdoors were quite loud, and until quite late at night.

Wow what a beautiful resort! One of the best properties Ive stayed at and the most beautiful in Canada! The staff was unbelievably gracious and I was treated like a princess.
I had a standard room in the Stanley wing - The room was a bit small, but very comfortable, clean and updated. It had a large safe which was great, windows that opened and a beautiful bathroom. The room was very quiet and the bed was unbelievably comfortable.
The outdoor pool was lovely and the pool amenities & change rooms were excellent!
From the stunning ballrooms to the mouthwatering restaurants & beautiful golf course - The hotel grounds are fabulous! Don't forget your camera - There are endless photo opportunities throughout the hotel.
The breakfast buffet at the BVG was massive and very delicious - highly recommended! The Rundle Lounge also served up some great snacks and cocktails.
I would return in a heartbeat! (Once I win the lottery, of course.)

My wife and I were looking for a getaway for July 4th week and based on a friend's suggestion decided to head to Calgary and Banff for the week. We booked everything on the Thursday prior to leaving on Sunday, so we didn't have much time to research the destination, roadtrip stops, etc. the way we usually would.

Instead we decided to try a different type of trip - one where we go to a top notch resort and stay there for the week, rather than just a night or two before moving on down the road. The Fairmont Banff Springs Hotel appeared to fill the bill just right. And with a AAA rate, and added discount for five nights, we ended up on the private fifth floor, with a fantastic breakfast buffet laid on every morning, hors deurves every evening, an honor bar, private concierge, and our own lounge. Very impressive.

We celebrated Canada Day on July 1 at the hotel, and then walked to downtown Banff where there was live music, an outdoor market, and fireworks that evening (at 11:00! gets dark out late up there).

Overall this was a great place to spend the week - we put on over 1000 miles on our rental car, with day trips up to Columbia Ice Fields, Lake Louise, Calgary (for the Stampede), and on hiking trips at local trail heads. Fantastic.

If you haven't been to the Canadian Rockies, highly recommend checking it out - and if you can swing it, treat yourself to a night or two of luxury at this hotel.

Room Tip: Go for the fifth floor (Gold Floor) with a mountain view room. They are small rooms - but great view...

Green Features: Eco options for your linens. Didn't use, but they had signs for them.

A beautiful old property that has history at every turn. Rooms vary, be sure to request and pay for a river view and AC if temps are an issue.
The dinner and service at Costello's was very nice. A walk to busy Banff along the waterfalls leads to a busy tourist town. Retreat, as generations before have done , to the property and sit on a verandah sipping your favorite beverage
