Hidden Ridge Resort
Ranked #14 of 33 Hotels in Banff
Reviewed 18 June 2014 via mobile

Pros:
- cabana style hotel so you have dinning, living, kitchen to share with family.
- outdoor BBQ for you to use
Cons:
- wifi never worked
- kitchen sink was blocked (they had to come to repair twice)
- dishwasher was leaking (they had to come to repair twice)
- housekeeping didn't made any of the beds the first day. After I complain they did the beds te next day.
- TV room never worked
- there was a huge window on the den (which had the master bedroom) which didn't have a blind so it not only was bad privacy wise but also it woke up us at 5am everyday! (In summer time the sun is out at 5)
- far from the center. Definitively not within walking distance.

Conclusion: the price wasn't that great ($430 per night) for the days I stayed. But if you have a big family and don't mind all the cons I listed and hopefully you find a better deal, then go for it.

Thank you for your review and we apologize for the litany of issues and maintenance deficiencies that impacted your stay, leading to your very poor assessment. I completely understand that the aforementioned issues, when piled up, can lead to a poor stay. A guest should never have to make multiple reactive efforts to get their hotel amenities to work for them. You can trust that we did fix the dishwasher and the sink correctly since your departure. As I write this, our IT department is currently on site installing a $20K upgrade to our wireless network. We have also inspected the TV which had an issue regarding a new pay per view system we are installing to go hand-in-hand with our current DVD rental amenity. Management and housekeeping undertake room inspections regularly to try to prevent these types of issues. We hope to show you our true potential given the opportunity to one day welcome you back.

We were upgraded from 2 one bedroom suites to a 3 bedroom condo. Lots of room for the 4 of us. Easy, quick drive into the village. The pool and hot tub looked nice but didn't have a chance to try them out. Nice place to stay.

Hubby and I had the chance for a quick weekend getaway and we took it. This was one of the few hotels not fully booked during the weekend of the Rocky Mountain Food and Wine Festival so we didn't have much choice.
We arrived early and our room wasn't ready but we were given complimentary bus passes and were able to jump on the bus to the event almost immediately while leaving our vehicle at the resort.
We returned later around 6 pm to find that we were one of the last to check in and that above ground parking was really tight. Apparently there aren't as many spaces as there are rooms. No worries though, we parked in the below ground parking with no problems.
Our room was nice and clean and cozy, with firewood piled beside the fireplace and the table set for a dinner we would never have.
The beds were nice and cozy and it was very quiet. I rarely sleep well in hotels but I hit the pillow hard at Hidden Ridge Resort. One thing that I really like was that the curtains were thick enough and fit well enough to block out daylight-a rare find at hotels.
Most importantly wifi was pretty decent as we watched the National Lacrosse final live online with few interruptions.
One thing I would have liked is a channel guide for the tv. It was cumbersome to find anything so we just gave up and used our laptop.
Checking out was quick and efficient...I would definitely stay here again!

My husband, my sister-in-law and I all stayed in the two bedroom/loft suite for 2 nights in June. The beds were comfortable and the rooms clean. The resort is in a wonderful location up the hill from the center of town, a less than 5 minute drive. We had a vehicle but a walk to town is easily doable and there is public transportation (city bus) right in front of the resort. The view of the mountains is amazing! The large jacuzzi tubs (yes, 2 of them, slightly different temperatures) near the lobby were a highlight. We had a fireplace in our suite and free fire wood is provided for guests. There are several gas BBQ grills for guests to use at no charge and free wifi is also provided. We will most definitely stay at Hidden Ridge Resort when we visit Banff again. The only reason I gave 4 stars instead of 5 is because it is not what I would consider a 'luxury' resort.

I recently had the opportunity to spend an excellent 4 days at your resort with my girlfriend. All the staff members were extremely friendly and the luxurious loft suite with private jacquizzi had a spectacular view.

This resort is extremely pet friendly and immediately catered to our dogs needs by providing a bed toy and dish. It is well hidden in the mountains and is well secluded from the tourist town strip offerring the perfect romantic setting.

Can't wait to go back

Stayed three nights, a whole team of us racing the Banff Bike Fest—plus discount for bike racers. Location on the hill isn't too far away, and the views are the best. Outdoor pools / hottub such a bonus. Full kitchen in our loft suite, beds for everyone, fireplace. Our fourth year here and we'll be back.

Initial outward appearance is good as well as the location. Rooms are dated and dark, both in color and light fixtures. Mattresses old and saggy. Other people's hair in the tub and floors. All parking spots are taken up by groups, each driving their own car, who rent and share one room. Party central...on the plus side, the management does seem to enforce the noise curfew of 11 PM.

Room Tip: Don't stay if you are expecting an upscale resort. Ask for quietest room. Ours was an end unit...
