“Anniversary Paradise”
Reviewed 20 September 2010

Husband and I went for our 28th wedding anniversary for the first time at Hidden Ridge and were not disappointed! Stayed at a one bedroom, two queen suite that was more than enough room for two people. Room was clean and so were the grounds. Used the BBQ one night which was absolutely wonderful!(get the utensils from the lobby). The hot tubs were unbelievable and if you go when the sun starts going down they light a fireplace in the hot tub area(Just incredible)! But what really impressed us was their excellent customer service..First of all, they always had stocked quality firewood at the lobby, always had clean towels ready for the hot tub, and the night of our anniversary, called up the staff in the lobby and they got us a reservation at an excellent restaurant an hour before we wanted to eat, in the best seat of the house! If you are looking for a very nice restaurant with quality food eat at the Maple Leaf off of Wolf Ave.The best food and service ever! But a big thank you to the staff at The Hidden Ridge for making our night absolutely wonderful. Would we go back to Hidden Ridge? Can't wait for next year!

My children just loved it! Specially the outdoor hot tubs which are most likely big hot pools.
Location in the outskirts of town up in the Tunnel Mountain is excellent, with great views. The cabin we stayed in was very clean and neat: 3 bedrooms [1 upstairs and 2 downstairs], 2 bathrooms [1 up 1 down], excellent showers, well equipped kitchen, flat screens in each bedroom and in the living room, big dining table, burning-wood fire place.
We used a lot the hot pools and sauna which were great and very well maintained.
There are a few barbecues outdoor and I wish I had used them to prepare a family meal.
Staff was very professional, very kind.
i definitely recommend a stay.

The hidden ridge resort is a fairly large collection of apartments a short distance from central Banff. The apartments are clean and well appointed. Ours had a log fire and a seating area where you could kind of see the mountains (through the trees).
It's about a 10-15 minute walk downhill to town. You get a free transport pass which gets you on the bus to and from town which run about every 40 minutes.
The communal hot tub is probably the best feature of the place. Perfectly placed so you can sit in the pool and look out down the valley. I guess these must get pretty busy during peak times, but they were always pretty quiet while we were there.
Reception were very helpful - they recommended somewhere for breakfast for us and you can also rent mountain bikes there for $5 an hour - much cheaper than town.
I'd definitely recommend this place - reasonably priced, good service, good location and good facilities. A good home away from home.

Stayed in a one-bedroom, lower level apartment. Nice sized living room, with full kitchen, wood-burning fireplace, flat screens in both the living room and bedroom. The resort is quiet and up the hill from the town (great views from the hot pool!). Banff has an excellent bus system (ROAM) that runs every 40 minutes that is unbeatbale to get to/from. We were happy to find the extras (wood for fireplace, internet, coffee, bus pass, movies, etc.) were free! Only down side is that being on the lower level can be noisy (depending on the tenants above) so try and get a place on the upper level if you are willing to pay the extra $$.

My husband and I paid a nominal charge for an upgrade for larger accomodations with a better view. We had two bedrooms, two bathrooms, a kitchen area and a living room area.

The accommodations were exceptionally clean--spotless--and it was very quiet at night.

The location was great. It was only a short drive from downtown, and free bus transportation to/from town was provided by the resort. Views from the lobby area and hot pools were absolutely beautiful.

We will stay there again when we visit Banff in the future.

Myself and my husband booked into a delux 1 bedroomed condo which was at the back of the resort on the ground floor. The apartment had it's own open porch where you could sit out in warmer weather and the inside was a small living area/kitchen with a small bathroom and small bedroom with 2 queen beds in it. The size of the apartment was more than adequate for the two of us though if there were more people staying I could see it getting cramped as there wasn't that much space in the bedroom or the bathroom to put things. The only negative thing about our stay was that 1 of the beds was extremely soft and uncomfortable - it wasn't a big deal for us as we could use the other bed, but if there had been more people staying it would have been a problem. Having said that I was very impressed by how well stocked the kitchen was with utensils etc. and the resorts other facilities. The hot tub had wonderful views over the Rockies which was lovely in the afternoon after a hard days activities and the laundry was very useful at a decent price. The resort gives you a pass for the Roam bus shuttle which was very useful for taking us down to Banff Ave area (takes about 5 min on bus or 20 min qiuck walking) so we found the resort the perfect mixture of being quiet and secluded while having very quick access to Banff when we needed it. I would have no hesitation staying at the Hidden Ridge again.

It was a great place to stay. They had a hot pool where we spend two evenings.
I will go back and stay there again next time I am in Banff.
