Would say that this hotel is probably one step up from a european cheap ski hotel, however, the bed linen was good and the beds comfy, bathroom towels tiny, jacuzzi a welcome relaxation place at the end of a hard ski day. CANNOT BEAT LOCATION!! Perfect for all nightlife, bars, restaurants and catching the ski bus in the morning. An in house bar would give the hotel a central focus. If you are looking for hotels with the extras, this is not the place for you. If you want to ski all day and sleep all night, then this IS the place for you!!!!

After reading the reviews here for this hotel I wasn't sure what to expect, it seems to be 50/50 with good and bad. My husband and I booked the Romance package with RBC rewards points to celebrate our anniversary. Since we weren't technically "paying" for it, we thought we would give it a try.

Upon arriving we were informed that they bumped our room up from a Deluxe King to a Brewster's Suite - we got the Boss's Suite which is the largest in the hotel. The King size bed was comfy and we had a great sleep, the views from the huge windows were great and the big jetted tub was a great treat. The staff were friendly and helpful and we really enjoyed our stay.

The continental breakfast is served in the basement but it's not as bad as they made it out to be. It wasn't anything amazing but it was very normal for what is offered for free breakfasts. We weren't disturbed by anyone in the hotel or anyone outside, and we loved that it was within walking distance to everything we wanted to see.

Our only complaint was having to pay $5 to park in their private parking lot for the night. Having to pay almost $20 for a Banff Park pass and then parking on top, it just starts to add up and seems a bit much.

Overall we had a great time and I just wanted to add my 2 cents since the bad reviews seem in my opinion to just be from picky people.

I stayed at Brewsters for 5 nights and it's quite possibly in the best location - walking distance to all the shops and restaurants and nightlife. The staff were friendly and welcoming. The continental breakfast is served in a room that's hard to find - bit like a maze trying to get there - but who cares really, it's a complimentary breakfast, I don't mind walking through a maze to eat yummy food in the morning. They serve tea, coffee, juice, bagels, bread for toast, yogurt, fresh food, all really good quality. My room was spacious, the bedding is a bit weird but didn't phase me. My only gripe was I was sleeping right by the elevator and was woken early every morning by skiiers/snowboarders trudging to the elevators in their snow attire. There's a popular nightclub across the street but it's in the basement so you can't hear the music. I would definitely stay here again.

The rooms are dated but nice, parking is available but limited. I contacted the desk several times because we could not get a wireless signal. They blamed in on the weather, we tried again everyday and never got the faintest signal. w/o internet we made reservations and checked hours for restuarants and attactions via phone. We were less than pleased when the phone calls were billed to our room. Its only a few dollars, but the principal is frustrating. We used their phones because their Internet didnt work, and then they charged us for using them. I find it very tacky/cheap for hotels to charge for local calls anyways (just build it into the room cost), but its real bad when they take away your alternative at the same time. Room service never came after the first day, and when we called the front desk, it was about 4 hrs before someone came to replace our towels (they didnt clean or make the beds). The breakfast area could only be described as an afterthought. It seems they just stuffed it in some unused corner of the hotels basement. It's dark and awkward, hard to find, and on each occasion they stopped replenishing the food well before the breakfast hours.
The location was great, but if this is how the hotel is generally run, I'll stay down the street at a more reliable location. Unfortunately more and more Banff hotels seem to be run by the same company, so options are limited.

The hotel is very nice yet a few things your may want to know:
1. they charge $CAD for parking per day.
2. Their room door is hollow so you can hear clearly what people say out at the hallway. Especially when there are bunch of drunken guys stay in the same floor with you.
3. We stay at the side which face the bar, Night time can be noisy.

Overall, the room is clean, got high ceiling, great size bathroom and nice breakfast that come with the price.

Stayed there Saturday night in Banff, always has been a good location, though Banff is relatively small. Requested to be moved from first room down in the basement, though we requested mountain view. They did get us in a standard room near the lobby, which I thought was convenient,..until 3:30am came a long. Couldn't believe my ears, the lobby is like a cathedral echoing the voices throughout. In the morning I complained and the very young staff gave me a bewildered "what noise are you talking about ?" look !
Beds are like boards, and the towels are not much bigger than crusty facecloths.
We are done Brewsters,..if I wanted to stay in a hostel we would have checked in at the YMCA. Next time we stay at a real hotel.

We stayed 6 nights in this superb hotel with wonderful mountain views to to rear and superb walking access to many restaurants. Staff could not have done more to make our stay so memorable. Our delux room was extremely spaceous, well serviced and well equiped. Banff hs so much to offer both on foot or by car. We recoomend dining at The Maple Leaf, by far the best value.
