“good enjoyable stay”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 22 April 2010

The location of this hotel is excellent right in the center of Banff. Ski bus stop about 200mts from the hotel.
Room standard okay for a 3.5* hotel,
Good breakfast every morning, cakes, toast, fruit...
Staff friendly and a nice whirlpool, which is very welcome after a day on the slopes.
Enjoyable stay and would stay again

There seem to be a fair few negative reviews on here and i really don't know why! We stayed here for 10days while on a skiing holiday in Banff. The rooms are absolutely massive, well the two we had were anyway, with all the facilities you need: TV, WI-FI, Tea/Coffee, decent shower, jucuzzi bath, large comfortable beds and great views of the mountains from the window. In terms of in hotel facilities like restaurants and communal activities areas it is pretty limited, but being in such a great location in the heart of banff there is really no need for any. The location could't be better (just off banff ave). Many similar hotels like Inns of banff are located right on the edge of town and barely walking distance really, so this is definitely a winner on location.
Highly recommended to all.

I'm giveing this hotel a poor review because of bad service and room location.
When I started looking for location sin banff I wantd to be close to downtown. Probably the best thing abotu this hotel was the location and baing able to just walk everywhere. I looked on hotel.cs and found a gret deal and the hotel did match the price that we found on the internet. We requested a room with a balconey just cause I thougth it would be nice. Upon ariving at the hotel the workers were not very helpful/nice. When we got to our room there was no balcony just a grat view of the back ally... with trucks going down and doing delieveries all the time! thus we spent more time ouside of the hotel room. Upon returning we just went too bed, a few hours later so did all the party animals. These walls are paper thin... very disapointing experience!

Would say that this hotel is probably one step up from a european cheap ski hotel, however, the bed linen was good and the beds comfy, bathroom towels tiny, jacuzzi a welcome relaxation place at the end of a hard ski day. CANNOT BEAT LOCATION!! Perfect for all nightlife, bars, restaurants and catching the ski bus in the morning. An in house bar would give the hotel a central focus. If you are looking for hotels with the extras, this is not the place for you. If you want to ski all day and sleep all night, then this IS the place for you!!!!

After reading the reviews here for this hotel I wasn't sure what to expect, it seems to be 50/50 with good and bad. My husband and I booked the Romance package with RBC rewards points to celebrate our anniversary. Since we weren't technically "paying" for it, we thought we would give it a try.

Upon arriving we were informed that they bumped our room up from a Deluxe King to a Brewster's Suite - we got the Boss's Suite which is the largest in the hotel. The King size bed was comfy and we had a great sleep, the views from the huge windows were great and the big jetted tub was a great treat. The staff were friendly and helpful and we really enjoyed our stay.

The continental breakfast is served in the basement but it's not as bad as they made it out to be. It wasn't anything amazing but it was very normal for what is offered for free breakfasts. We weren't disturbed by anyone in the hotel or anyone outside, and we loved that it was within walking distance to everything we wanted to see.

Our only complaint was having to pay $5 to park in their private parking lot for the night. Having to pay almost $20 for a Banff Park pass and then parking on top, it just starts to add up and seems a bit much.

Overall we had a great time and I just wanted to add my 2 cents since the bad reviews seem in my opinion to just be from picky people.

I stayed at Brewsters for 5 nights and it's quite possibly in the best location - walking distance to all the shops and restaurants and nightlife. The staff were friendly and welcoming. The continental breakfast is served in a room that's hard to find - bit like a maze trying to get there - but who cares really, it's a complimentary breakfast, I don't mind walking through a maze to eat yummy food in the morning. They serve tea, coffee, juice, bagels, bread for toast, yogurt, fresh food, all really good quality. My room was spacious, the bedding is a bit weird but didn't phase me. My only gripe was I was sleeping right by the elevator and was woken early every morning by skiiers/snowboarders trudging to the elevators in their snow attire. There's a popular nightclub across the street but it's in the basement so you can't hear the music. I would definitely stay here again.

The rooms are dated but nice, parking is available but limited. I contacted the desk several times because we could not get a wireless signal. They blamed in on the weather, we tried again everyday and never got the faintest signal. w/o internet we made reservations and checked hours for restuarants and attactions via phone. We were less than pleased when the phone calls were billed to our room. Its only a few dollars, but the principal is frustrating. We used their phones because their Internet didnt work, and then they charged us for using them. I find it very tacky/cheap for hotels to charge for local calls anyways (just build it into the room cost), but its real bad when they take away your alternative at the same time. Room service never came after the first day, and when we called the front desk, it was about 4 hrs before someone came to replace our towels (they didnt clean or make the beds). The breakfast area could only be described as an afterthought. It seems they just stuffed it in some unused corner of the hotels basement. It's dark and awkward, hard to find, and on each occasion they stopped replenishing the food well before the breakfast hours.
The location was great, but if this is how the hotel is generally run, I'll stay down the street at a more reliable location. Unfortunately more and more Banff hotels seem to be run by the same company, so options are limited.
