“Great price for the basics”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 9 April 2014

Pension took great care of us on our trip.
We advised them that we would be arriving before check-in time and they were able to prepare our room for our arrival which was a pleasant surprise. Staff was always available and willing to help.
Location - at most a 10 minute walk to down town Banff - totally acceptable and a pleasure for the eyes and senses while you travel
Price - After shopping around, very reasonable!
Breakfast - Very simple breakfast, but they have nice bread for toast and a good enough selection to get you on the road. Home made cookies were to die for, ask for the glutton free peanut butter
Room - We stayed in room # 7 which was spacious, had a great big comfy bed, a view of the trees to wake up to, and a fabulous vanity to get ready for a night out. Would highly suggest room#7.
Games room - well equipped to hang out in. Lots of board games, cards & wineglasses ready to pass the time.
Drawbacks? The room could has really use a blow-dryer and an iron.

I am not a fan of B&B. It is often too cramped and the hyper friendly service often falls on my nerves. None of that here. My room was huge and very comfortable, the king size bed was good and everything was very clean. The service, friendly without being stuffy. The breakfasts are spotless (their coffee is delicious!) and the dining room is again very wide. For the price, it's a bargain! J'ai même eu droit à du service en français grâce à la charmante Geneviève!

The great part was that it is in a fabulous location, very peaceful and close to ski hills. Also, the staff are amazing and friendly! Also, it is very clean. The room we stayed in (room 9) was very nice and the jetted tub was spectacular.

On the downside, the breakfast leaves a lot to be desired. Especially, 3 mornings in row, toast and boiled eggs gets old! With the other great things that this place has to offer, it is unfortunate that they don't up the ante a bit and offer a breakfast that matches. If they did, we would be back. Also, the bed was extremely uncomfortable.

I really hope that the owner/manager takes these comments into consideration because I would go back if the breakfast was better. Even if it means paying a bit more.

I had a lot of correspondence with the Staff at Banff Boutique Inn and was very excited about getting away for my Birthday. Unfortunately the hype and excitement were extinguished during our stay.

Breakfast was as advertised, but not what we expected. I found it very odd that there were no table setting. Not a place mat or serviette or little vase with fake flowers, just a few empty tables. We got the sense that you were expected to clear your own table, although this was not official. Maybe it adds to the homey feel? I don't know but I found it strange.

The beds were very uncomfortable. We stayed in 2 different rooms as they were kind enough to upgrade us to a Deluxe room (at cost) for the first 2 nights of our stay on my request.
Stayed in Room 10 the first 2 nights. The jetted tub was nice. Heating was too high. Bed was not great. Stayed in Room 7 the last night and had one of the most uncomfortable nights ever. Should be noted that I have camped in the African bush and slept on the ground and I would prefer that over the bed in Room 7.

We had a great time in Banff, but unfortunately the accommodation was the let down on this trip.

Room Tip: Avoid Room 7 at all cost until they change the bed.

This inn is spacious and very well appointed. The rooms are lovely , really lovely beds and 6 pillows of varying types. The bathrooms are very small though adequate. The guest lounge is nice and welcoming. All of the young workers are lovely..very welcoming , friendly and always with a smile.
Breakfast was fresh and generous with choices. The televisions are very small and if you want tea you have to make in the kitchen which is okay and you can do any time. There is a guest fridge which is good too.
Parking is good too.
All in all a lovely cosy, stylish stay in Banff, about 10 mins walk from downtown.

The Boutique was our friends from South Africa's first impression of Canada in way of beautiful accommodation and friendly staff. I was particularly impressed with Becky's motherly way toward her young and friendly staff, whom always greeted us with their genuine smiles. We would not hesitate in returning. Great experience!

Stopped here for two nights, Sat and Sun in December. What a wonderful environment - we were spoilt as we were the only people there on the Sunday night and had the place all to ourselves. We would have had to share a bathroom and toilet if it had been fully booked - but other than being sure you get an ensuite if that is important to you - this is the place to stay. We didn't want to leave. The sitting room and dining room were very homely and welcoming - the staff were exceptionally friendly and helpful - nothing was too much trouble and breakfast was amazing. We booked it on booking.com and had exceptional rates I think of about $85 per night - we appreciated the price and the luxury - this is a first class establishment that I am sure during peak times deserves the prices it charges. The bathroom was 'dated' but clean - but apparently is being renovated in the next 6 months. Well done to the people who own and run it - everyone should be lucky enough to stay here.

Room Tip: If ensuite is important to you - make sure you book ensuite if travelling at peak time. Our bathroo...
