The lakes are very close to Banff. I went there in the evening since I had no other plans... and it was worth it - I saw lots of birds and deers right next to the road. The views were nice too and at that time there were not many people out there.

Vermillion lakes is part of Alberta's Banff National Park requires a park pass purchase to explore its is near to Banff itself. Deer, Elk, a water otter and squirrels.

Unreal blue green water.

Vermillion Lakes are tranquil, filled with birds and a few moose - try to go early in the day so you can enjoy the mist rising from the three small lakes.

These are not spectacular lake but they are worth the hour to go out there and see. There is not much parking but enough, since there will not be that many people there.

We hiked near Vermillion Lakes and it is close to Banff Town. The water was blue/green and very clear. We will try to Kayak on it next time we visit.
