“Pleasant surprise”
Reviewed 31 January 2010

We found this hotel for $88.00 per night including taxes .

I was a little concerned about what to expect but was pleasantly surprised to find a nice sized, clean room with some nice touches. For $88.00 per night this is a great deal. Check AMA rates, online hotel rates such as hotwire and trip advisor, as well as the entertainement book rates.

As a note, it is towards the end of town so if you want to walk to restarants you will need to bundle up a bit but it is totally doable.

The ambience of this wonderful Lodge was very relaxing and comfortable. We highly recommend the rooom with the jacuzzai - it was awesome!! The staff who waited on us provided excellent service. (Jade, Jennifer, and Matt)
The Rundlestone will definitely be our future honeymoon Lodge. Thank you for making our stay very comfortable!!
Happy New Years to the staff at the Rundlestone Lodge, and we look forward to seeing you in the New Year.

We arrived in Banff on Xmas Eve and the hotel allowed us to check into our room 2 hours early which is always nice. We had a loft room with fireplace and kitchen and the configuration of sleeping upsatirs and living down was perfect.

The hotel is located a 10 minute walk from downtown Banff which is manageable in most conditions. There was a view of the surrounding mountains from our room. Not an entire panorama but enough to capture the grandure of the Rockies.

The bathroom is adequate and functional. The kitchen area has all you need except for a microwave which I found a little strange. Standard tv, not flatscreen. The fireplace was great and my partner continues to rave about it.

The loft bedroom was well appointed with another tv and a good-sized bed.

There was no maid service on Xmas Day but that is undewrstandable and didn't detract from our stay. We ate at the hotel restaurant on Xmas night and whilst we waited 20 minutes to be seated we found the food and service to be reasonable.

There was free internet access to the room and free, heated undercover parking.

Overall we had no complaints with the hotel at all and the "white Xmas" atmosphere of Banff and the festive decorations of the hotel made our stay a memorable one.

I would like to tell everyone that the Rundlestone is a terrific place to stay in Banff! My son (11) and I have now stayed here 2 years in a row for a ski vacation. Special thanks to Jennifer at the front desk for booking our favourite room. That was a nice touch-especially as my son loved that room and looked forward to staying in it almost as much as going skiing! The staff was friendly, rooms were clean, and the pool area was great!

This hotel is quaint, and the staff was great - polite, cheerful (but not annoying!) and very helpful. The room was spacious although starting to show its age. When the heat went on, the fan was noisy, but it worked well. The one major downside to our stay was the beds: they were extremely firm - about one degree softer than the floor. Some may like that, but it wasn't even comfortable enough to sit on let alone sleep on. Each room has a DVD player in it, although ours did not work the first night. The staff ensured that we had a working one for the second night, which was really nice. They also have a wide selection of DVDs to borrow (not rent!). The pool is primarily a lap pool, which made it nice for kids & adults alike, plus a nice hot tub overlooking a treed back yard. While I'm not sure I'd go back because I lost sleep there, I would recommend it to a friend who likes ultra firm beds. The rest of the hotel was decent, albeit aging.

The hotel was lovely. Our room was large, clean, comfortable, and tastefully decorated. Nice indoor lap pool and hot tub area. FREE underground parking with easy elevator access. FREE internet. Only drawback could be the 15 to 20 min. walk to the shopping area. This could be difficult in inclement weather.

My wife and I spent 3 nights at the hotel in August and found the staff to be friendly and helpfull. The room was well appointed and clean. The hotel facilities were also of a high standard. There is also a good guest laundry that is not listed.Thoroughly enjoyed the stay, we would use it again if we go back to Banff AB.
