Bamboo Garden bills itself as Thai fusion cuisine, which seems to mean Thai with a Chinese accent. That said, for a Thai restaurant on the main street of a major tourist town, the food is pretty good. We had a light late dinner of Tom Yum soup, mango salad, Singapore noodles, and a stir-fry dish identifying itself as basil beef. The best of these were the Tom Yum and the Singapore noodles, both of them well prepared and instantly recognizable. The basil beef seemed to be more of a Cantonese black pepper beef dish, rather good, but not basil beef. And the mango salad appeared to be a crossover between a western green salad and a Thai mango salad, more of the former than the latter.
That all said, the food was good and reasonably priced. Not competitive with a real Thai restaurant but recommendable, making allowances for the venue.
