“Beautiful Campground”
Reviewed 22 June 2014

We visited in late June when the campground was pretty full. The sites are very well maintained and surrounded by trees, with wonderful views of the mountains. We were in the narrower part between the river and the railroad, with electrical hook up. We didn't use the showers (had our own in our trailer), but the washrooms beside us were immaculate. Staff were friendly while being assiduous in ensuring sites were bare as there was much bear activity around us. The only downside for us was the people in large RVs ignoring the speed limit. However, if you don't like the sounds of trains (I do!) you might not enjoy being so close to the railroad. Sites are pull-through, so easy to access.

Stayed one night in our RV, travelling for 2 months. This has been most expensive site with least services available. Our end of park was nearly full yet closest amenities were closed. Nearest was 500m walk. You share your site with another vehicle. Friendly and helpful staff.

Stayed here for the first couple of nights on our Road Trip through the Rockies in a 35 foot motor home. Didn't really know what to expect of these Parks Canada sites but became apparent that they were all of a high standard. We were (obviously) in the RV section which had pull throughs in which RV's would sit side by side. Still private enough though. Tents are within a different part of the site behind an electric fence to protect from bears. Toilets and showers a 5 minute walk away and great walks alongside the river to Lake Louise itself. There were talks given by Park Rangers but sadly we missed them.
Close to lots of attractions including Lake Louise. Thoroughly recommend walk up to the Morraine Lake and Lake Agnes with it's little cafe. Village centre perfectly walkable and Banff only 35 miles to the south
Campsite fairly close to railway but we loved hearing the soulful almost mournful sound of the train horns as they passed by.

Lake louise is really pricey do even though it was cold ( we woke to snow on tent!) we had no choice but to camp.

Site fine- initial site offered was occupied so had to change it. Quite empty as stayed last 2 days of season. No wait for showers but old and not as nice as at Banff or Jasper. Pretty standard campsite - same as US national parks ones just twice as expensive!

Could hear trains but didn't disturb me- however live in a big city so nothing new. Location near village.

The Campground is situated just outside of Lake Louise. Although in nature, 187 sites are available. The sites are quite spacy, yet RVs stand close enough together. Full hook-ups are standard, and there is a central sani-dump station available. Accomodation facilities are well equipped. The tent site area is electrical-fenced, needed with regards to the bears around...
Unfortunately the train tracks are passing by closely to the camp ground. For one reason or another (wildlife?), the train whistle will be blown at any location, which might be disturbing. However, one gets used to it. A train passing, means several minutes, as trains passing are quite long. Yet the campground is very well located, and staff are friendly.

Nice campground right in the mountains along the river. Bear warnings were a little scary and the way the sites were set up on the website made us believe we were booking sites beside each other. Turns out we booked with someone in between our two sites. Campground is a short drive to Lake Louise, which was cold but beautiful. Loved the animals around our sites

We tent camped here at short notice for one night when other sites on the icefields parkway were closed due to flooding and bear activity. The staff were very helpful and fitted is in even though the site was officially full. Our pitch was nice. Not as private as some sites but fine. The bear fence information given to us was very interesting and explained a lot about the specific reasons for having it. We had a very nice walk along the river. The shower block was quite far from the tent (500m) but clean and tidy. All in all a very good stay in a beautiful location!
