“Better than Lake Louise”
Reviewed 27 March 2014

Goodness, this place is stunning. The crystal clear water, beautiful mountains, and serene environment make it a must-see in the Canadian Rockies! Those who are fans of scenery will find it easy to pass time just admiring the unbelievably beautiful views of the lake and surrounding area.

It's also less touristy than Lake Louise, so it beats it for those who prefer less mainstream spots. (Not downgrading Lake Louise, though - it's still a gorgeous sight.)

There are some trails you can take while at Moraine Lake. Didn't get to check them out as I was pressed for time, but they definitely provide options for activities while in the area.

Saw some kayaks as well, but it was pretty chilly when I visited and nobody else was out on the lake.

Highly recommended! You won't regret spending time here!!!

“Must See!”
Reviewed 23 March 2014

This is the picture postcard lake of all lakes in this region of extraordinary beauty. It's so beautiful that the Canadians put it on one of their monetary bills.

“A Little Remote, Stunningly Gorgeous Yet Somehow Intimate!”
Reviewed 20 March 2014

Moraine Lake is beyond words beautiful. It is worth the side trip as in so many respects, it is even more beautiful than Lake Louise and that is saying something. The lake is gem-like in color, the stunning craggy peaks tower over the lake in very close proximity to the lake and visitors center. The lake being so near and the mountains so high, the area is like an intimate pocket of calmness. Moraine Lake can touch your soul. Plus you can hike, scuba, have a meal, photograph, rent a canoe or just kick back and enjoy the view. We love how you can hear the lapping of the lake against the shore and the birds in the trees. There is less human noise pollution here, it is nature at its best.
