The hotel has been around for a while and could do with some upgrading but we found it comfortable and a great base to see the area. The staff were welcoming and very friendly and made up of a number of youngsters from overseas who are obviously working there for the winter ski-ing. The hotel offers a beef rib carvery on Sundays which was excellent value. It is about 4 kms from the actual lake and the prices are far more reasonable than the sites there, also a wide variety of shops and restaurants nearby that do not charge lake prices. Unfortunately we were there on Labour day weekend so there were thousands of cars parked at the lake and the trip there and back was very slow. It is also almost adjacent to the Icefields parkway which is a really beautiful drive and to us the highlight of the area.

My husband and I stayed at the Lake Louise Inn for three nights in September. It was a great location for hiking and visiting the Columbia Ice Fields. Our room was very clean and the bed was comfortable. We ate dinner down in the lower pub and found the food to be excellent and the price reasonable. One of the outstanding features of this hotel was the friendly staff and excellent service. The waitress gave us tips for hiking which proved to be awesome!! There aren't many choices in Lake Louise for hotels but I think this a good choice if you don't want to spend a fortune and you want good food, a comfortable bed, great location and most importantly friendly staff!

We stayed at the Lake Louise for two nights and we couldn't have chosen a better location from where to explore the Icefields Parkway route and surrounding area. The location was picturesque, all the staff were friendly and helpful....our party had asked for an accessible room with another close by, this request was met. The rooms were well appointed....no air con but it had a mosquito screen which meant we could leave the patio doors open. However beware there were a lot of mosquitos around so don't leave main room door open they get in and hide!!!! Our only problem was that there were few washers and dryers and most were broken the evening we wanted to use them!!! Lake Louise village was a five minute walk away with a great variety of shops to look around. Definitely recommend.

In August 2013 we stayed at the Lake Louise Inn for a night while we hiked up from Lake Louise to Lake Agnes. I definitely recommend the hike to the Tea House and beyond if you feel fit. Great hike. We booked a regular room and the hotel is not cheap but that is what you get in the National Park. The hotel is looking dated, especially in the annex to the rear of the hotel where we were located but is comfortable overall. What I liked least...time to spruce up the exterior a little and not sure how the disabled get on as there was no elevator to the second floor. What I liked? The view from the room was fairly decent. with mountains all around. The view of the ground squirrels popping up and chirping to each other throughout the afternoon was certainly fun to watch. Luckily they canned it in time for bed..LOL. The pillows and beds were surprisingly comfortable. I appreciate a coffee maker in the room which was great. Do not waste your time eating at the bistro in the tourist strip mall at the corner. It is worth looking around first as we made that mistake...$30 for bar food for two and not the freshest. We ate at the Chateau Lake Louise for dinner at the Bistro...worth it for the view and the ambiance. One word though...beware and steer clear of the noisy and obnoxious American tourists. Beautiful location....

Room Tip: Try to get a room in the main part of the hotel rather than the annex around the back.

Overall a disappointment, firstly the good news, the room was clean and well appointed, however it was a second floor room with steep staircases and a struggle to get the luggage into the room. Not everyone is 21 YOA and fit enough to negotiate the stairs with suitcases, elevators don't appear to exist in the outer buildings of Lake Louise Inn.
The most disappointing part of our stay was the poor choice of food in the evening, our meal was taken in the Legends Restaurant not only was the food choice limited but the quality was very average and the level of service was the worst we have experienced in our three weeks in Canada.
If we ever return to this area we will not be revisiting the Lake Louise Inn.

Dear MSPChesterfielduk,
Thank you for choosing to spend your three weeks vacation in Canada! We are very proud of our vast and beautiful country. I am grateful for your comments about our cleanliness and room amenities, our housekeeping team are delighted you noticed their efforts. You are correct in that your building did not have an elevator. Two of our five buildings have elevators. The Legends restaurant enjoys a steady reputation for Canadian fare with thousands of satisfied patrons. I apologize for the level of service you experienced. The employees on duty that day are well regarded professionals and fine members of our service team. I have discussed your comments with our Food and Beverage manager and we will review our service standards with our service team.
Best regards,
Andre Fabbri

We had the chance to visit this property as just a one night stop on our drive to Kelowna. This resort is very well maintained. Our room, a suite was very well presented with a sitting area and fireplace. Decor is very nice, close drive to lake Louise.....
