We booked back in January for 3 nights in the smallest log cabin, the Wilson, at the beginning of August.

We went from a 4 star hotel with a jacuzzi bathroom the size of our lounge at home, to a log cabin the size of our lounge at home! It was perfect!

Little pot-bellied stove which worked off a thermostat. We didn't need but switched it on just for the effect for a few minutes. Cabin fully equipped with 2 of everything and car parking right next to each cabin.

Cute, clean and ideal for the environment. We BBQd every night on the free (gas) BBQ- no need to even bring utensils. Bed was huge but again had those horrible soft pillows that wrap themselves around your head whilst collapsing to just 2 inches off the bed! These seem endemic in N America.

Just to give you some flavour- the room have the usual coffee maker (good coffee!) but also 2 packets of porridge each day- nice touch!

The site is 5 mins drive from Lake Louise - perfect for a 7.30am visit before the tour buses get there! (Parking is free at Lake Louise because you have paid your National Park fees)

The owners had put on a lecture about wolves on the Wednesday which was appreciated.

I loved our Peyto cabin. We had stayed there before and my husband wanted to do it again. I choked because it was over $300 a night - but he really wanted to do it so I said, "Ok". We stayed 3 nights. The grounds are beautiful. I took lots of pictures just because the place is so pretty and unique. We were so close to Lake Louise and to the village. A perfect place to stay to see all the sights that we planned to do in our 3 days there. The young ladies they have working there - work hard. Our room was immaculate. One afternoon I actually saw one of the young ladies pulling weeds along the sidewalk. I was impressed. My grandson and I really enjoyed the Naturalist show they have on Wednesday nights - the presenter did an excellent job teaching us about wolves - nice touch for the lodge to do for their guests. The rooms/cabins had everything you could want - my husband loved making coffee in the morning. The only reason I gave it 4 stars instead of 5 stars - were the towels in the bathroom. When you pay over $300 a night I would like to have big, fluffy, white towels. I thought the towels they provided were more the Holiday Inn variety - my only complaint. Yes, we would definitely stay there again if we're feeling rich.

Room Tip: They run specials if you stay 3 nights or more - otherwise it would have been even more expensive fo...

Decided to leave Banff a couple of days early on the way to Jasper. Lodge staff were very friendly and helpful with the reservation. Lodge is outside of the village on the way to the lake. A little ways from either place, but very quiet, well furnished and clean. We would go back.

One of the more expensive places to stay but location to Lake Louise and Moraine Lake was excellent. We stayed one night and found the cabin very cozy if a little dark. The bed was very comfortable and slept very well. CD's in the room created a nice atmosphere. Breakfast was not included and found the complimentary food disappointing given the price of the lodge. Recommended for a great stay in Lake Louise.

We stayed here 4 nights and were very comfortable. Our son slept in the sleeper sofa. We used the kitchenette for all of our meals (finally we could save a little money..but the local market is not very good...tip: buy as much as you can while in a bigger town - Banff has a Safeway and Jasper has Robinsons). The location was nice and quiet. A little too far to walk to Lake Louise (for us). The lake parking lot and area gets very crowded from about 11:00-5:00. We avoided the lake at those times. They had a luandry facility which was easy to use. All was very clean and cozy. Only complaint: our bed creaked.

The Lodges were well kept, grounds immaculate and great access to Lake Louise as well as hiking.

Room Tip: We really would have liked a full kitchen. Book early!
